ANC’s Log: Entry #5
Much of the same. Babies are fine. Just fed some pre compost.

This is the first time I am trying the bokashi method for composting. I decided to use a single bin method because I didn’t want to bother tools. I basically layer the EM and newspaper in between layers of the food. Does anybody else do that?
I am basically guessing at what works and to seems fine so far. Maybe because I have just been using food preserving logic.
Basically, I was wondering if there is an app or resource where you can look up what companies use for their packaging. I remember loving the ability to look up nutritional facts of whatever food I bought or adding the info if it wasn’t already in the MyFitnessPal. I just wondered if there was something like that for packages so I don’t have to test every cardboard box or “biodegradable” package that comes into my house.
This my second week actually logging. Also, a rare big chonker siting (I think a slightly older worm made its escape into my cocoon shipment).
I got some cocoons about 3 weeks ago and thought to keep a log. I wanted to post somewhere people would actually be interested in the progress. Today was a check in. This is about how big they are so far.
I am planning on starting a worm bin again this year. Life took over a couple years ago and I no longer had time for them. Now, I want to try again and recently realized that they come from the wild 🤯. In all seriousness, I just never made the connection. Since I am starting this new bin, I wanted to study how they would normally act in the wild. I heard that they have the tendency to wonder at night and forage. I am planning on getting a worm tower and want to set the top bin up as a foraging bin. Has anybody tried this? Any suggestions on how to start?
There is a whole umbrella of research and development that is basically how to break down synthetic materials into natural or less harmful materials. Some are more biological using fungi and enzymes others are more in the physics or chemistry department like using supercritical water. I just want it to have a cool name. What would you want the field’s name to be? Does it have a name already?
