Indian Twitter is the worst social media full of misogynists, rapists, sexists and andhbhakts....
I'm genuinely disgusted by the comments I've been seeing lately. I came across a post about a woman crying after allegedly being harassed by Delhi Police, and instead of showing empathy, people were victim-blaming her, calling it propaganda, and slut-shaming her without even knowing the full facts.
And that's not all. I've also seen posts where Dhruv Rathee's wife is being sexualized and subjected to disgusting comments simply because of her husband's political views.
The irony is that some of the people defending this disgusting behaviour were women themselves. Imagine watching another woman being slut-shamed, humiliated, and sexually objectified, and instead of standing up against it, choosing to defend the people doing it.
How does political hatred make people forget basic human decency? You can disagree with someone's politics without humiliating their wife or attacking a woman's character when she speaks up about her experience.
What's even more disturbing is how some people talk about morality and women's dignity but abandon both the moment a woman belongs to the "opposing side." Asking for evidence is one thing; victim-blaming, slut-shaming, and sexual harassment are something else entirely.
Honestly, it's sickening to see misogyny being excused just because it serves someone's political agenda.
