That Discworld reference in "those who hunt for elves"

EDIT: "Those Who Hunt Elves" is a 90 manga/anime comedic show.

The characters keep repeating "the earth moves" in reference to eliocentrism, really close to "the turtle moves"

Jace+ Infect/proliferate control

Are you excited to have psw and pair it with poison+proliferate control shell?

Seems a match made in heaven.

[[Baleful strix]] seems a no brainer to stop early aggression.

I always loved the idea of control infect, jace will offer some value, even if is surveil every turn.

Anyone into this?

Edit: poison control deck not really infect.

Do you offload your commander deck from continous tracking?

I am sure I am not the only one who decide to remove cards or not include cards to limit the amount of tracking happening in the game.

[[Wandering archairc]] wonderful card but I'm not putting it in my decks, because I have to keep track of any spell my opponent will play.

Same for some other cards that offers a lot of value but you have to add up to other triggers so no. Maybe a play an instant that draws me some card right away and call it a day.

I call it decluttering: aggro decks are less offended by this, as I can add an overrun rather than the next value piece.

What about you?

EDIT: I do pay attention to what my friends are playing but the trigger bothers me, every time I should remember to ask: "do you pay the 2?" and If I dont is not a may, so is a mess. yes you should follow the game, I just love to being relaxed and not think about triggers all the times.

6 creatures that are just value (low brackets)

Hi

I was playing last night and I came up with this list about creatures that can provide value with minimal to no synergy. I thought it would be fun.

[[Angel of indemnity]] is a variation of [[sun titan]] that could also being the mention, I will say that despite offering less value than the titan, an elusive that can be helping you to stay alive is a decent trade off, encore sometimes is just flavor text or nice extra.

[[Shadow kin]] this card impresses me everytime I play it, yes graveyard decks can make the best but this card definely has good chances to be something good. Flash elevates it. You never feel to waste the turn before it becomes something.

[[Doom whisperer]] this card is insane, even if you dont care about manipulating the top of library it will smooth your draws quite easly. You really feel you are in control of your deck, I would not recommend to use it as speudo [[ad nauseam]] it will kill you.

[[Magus of the library]] I think this one offer the most generic value, but value nonetheless, great in early or late turns if you are able to have steady draws and end up discarding to seven so you can draw again.

[[Professional face breaker]] generates its own value, definely a staple that got a nice reprint ratio that kept it affordable, better with more creatures around but solid valuemaker.

[[Wandering archaic]] could really go in any deck, I personally put it in none because I am really scared about keeping track of it and missing triggers. If you are an attentive player you should give it a go. Also has a backside.

And there are my pure value cards, do you have any?

5 bigbrain deckbuilding cards

You have a card that works specifically well for a niche scenario? Here my 5 from my low brackets decks:

[[Defiler of dreams]] I use it in [[satorou umezawa]] half-life deck, is great to recast a 1/1 unblockable guy for free and draw a card every turn.

[[Hour of eternity]] in my monoblue [[tawnos solemn survivor]] synergises stupidly with the self mill, make a 4/4 copy of a [[skyscanner]] then you start making copies of that to finish the game.

[[Diviner spirit]] with [[ludevic the necrogenius]] is a fun interaction since you have a 5/5 that gives cards to both you and the opponent, but since you are the graveyard deck you are getting the best out of it. Also not having evasion is never the issue I can always find the greedy player at the table.

[[Last laugh]] in the mardu human deck with [[sylvar devourer of free]] and partner, is really easy to cause havoc in a sacrifice deck and since your commander becomes indestructible the enchantment stays on the board even after wiping everything.

[[Brainstone]] in vivaldi aka [[vaevictis amaldi the dire]] deck focused on playing stuff from the top of library also worth mentioning [[credit voucher]] to help you move some cards from your hand back into the library.

What is yours bigbrain card?

What is your favourite lose-con?

I keep on messing the combo with mirror mad phantasm, usually I copy its ability with [[necrotic ooze]] and mill my entire deck.

But then I realize that I don't have the mana to escape [[from the catacombs]] and reanimate [[laboratory maniac]] so I pass.

I find that hilarious.

5 cards that can be used politically

Hi all I want to talk about some cards that can be use politically and they quite fun to use

[[allure to unknown]] is the first sleeper for me, 5 mana draw 5 and you can make a deal with an opponent: " take anything but dont cast removal on my stuff if you find any" if there a problematic permanent you and the opponent could try to find for the removal (did that, was great) and honestly i use it in mardu humans and they will not get much value from my creatures.

[[Perch protection]] is already great by itself, however in time of need giving an extra turn to another player can really turn the tide of the game. Archenemy is trying to win, you phase out and you give the chance for a player to find a boardwipe this can literally hand you a win.

[[Fervent mastery]] Classic wheel and deal but a player get to wheel while you can get good stuff possibly a combo, with enough cards in hand the chance to discard a central piece is lower, than if you dont mind to have those cards in your graveyard it becomes a bonus.

[[Druid of purification]] manages to remove a lot of goodstuff from the board, yes, players can decide to limit the damage but if you can convince other player to remove problematic permanents then you are getting what you paying and more.

[[Gifts ungiven]] you can play this card fairly(I know people dont) when you do that, this card gets way more interesting, get a needed boardwipe and another good spell is nice at instant speed, I really hope it get out from the gamechanger as 2 card combos are already out from bracket 2.

And there are, tou have any political cards you like?

Hi all

I have been working on a template for a budget mardu manabase that has synergies with itself and works well with ramp non basic plains fetch.

The idea is simple, you keep as much landtype as possible in order to have checklands and snarls to come untapped and it should work most of the time.

Having cards like [[knight of the white orchid]] [[kor cartographer]] [[weathered wayfarer]] [[scholar of new orizon]] [[charitable levy]] will help get your dual type land.

I made this list tight as possible excluding some classic untapped lands such as painland since they dont have the type. The more of them you have the worst will be in general, as you start tainting your strategy.

From there you can mix and match more expensive lands such as shocklands and triomes if you have any

This is the base idea. Let me know what you think
