Passiflora ‘Blue Horizon’ update: the vine has officially taken over 🌿💜

Since my last update, my Passiflora ‘Blue Horizon’ has been very busy. The vine has spread across almost the entire trellis, and I’m finally getting these incredible flowers again.

I never get tired of how alien-looking passionflowers are. The purple filaments, speckled center, and all those tiny details look almost engineered rather than grown.

There are still plenty of buds on the vine, so hopefully this is just the beginning of the next flush of blooms. Now I’m curious to see how much more of the wall it can claim before the season is over. 😄

Anyone else’s Passiflora going wild right now?

That fresh washed F56 glow

Finally gave the F56 (MCS 2018 special ice blue edition) a proper wash and had to snap a photo while it was still spotless.

The ice blue + orange combo really pops in the sun, especially with the black wheels.

Nothing fancy, just one of those moments where you walk away, turn around, and think, yep… still love this thing. 😎

Passiflora 'Blue Horizon' Update: 5 blooms open at once after expanding the trellis 💜🌿

After two more weeks of training, the passionflower wall is finally starting to come together.

I recently expanded the trellis from a centered lattice to a wall-to-wall support system so the vine can maximize coverage across the entire fence.

The long-term goal is a living wall of foliage, tendrils, and blooms.

Today I counted five flowers open simultaneously, with even more buds developing behind them. Every bloom still looks like something from another world.

Swipe for the current setup and bloom photos.

For those growing passionflowers:
• How long did it take your vine to fully cover its trellis or fence?
• Do you prune aggressively during the growing season, or let it run and shape it later?

🌈🌈

A rainbow ribbon Jell-O mold that looks like it escaped from a 1970s cookbook and wandered into a disco.

Six flavors.
So many colors.
Approximately 45 trips to the refrigerator.
Zero regrets.

Honestly, half the fun was watching each layer set and wondering whether I was making dessert or conducting a very colorful science experiment.

Does this count?

Happy Pride 🌈 🌈

This year's contribution to the celebration: a rainbow ribbon Jell-O mold that looks like it escaped from a 1970s cookbook and wandered into a disco.

Six flavors.
Many different colors.
Approximately 45 trips to the refrigerator.
Zero regrets.

Honestly, half the fun was watching each layer set and wondering whether I was making dessert or conducting a very colorful science experiment.

Question for everyone:
What's the most unexpectedly labor-intensive thing you've ever made that people assumed was "just a simple dessert"? 😄🌈

Passiflora Blue Horizon update 🌿✨

After 4 weeks of training vines across a custom wire trellis, I am sharing one of the most alien-looking flowers in the plant kingdom.

Every time a bloom opens, it looks less like a flower and more like something that landed in the garden overnight.

It's still a work in progress, but watching the tendrils find their way across the pattern has been half the fun.

Nature really showed off with this one. 💜🤍

Nutella cookies - 4 ingredients🍪🍫

Crisp outside, soft middle, and rich enough that one cookie feels like you’ve made several questionable but satisfying life decisions.

The cracked tops came out exactly like those overpriced bakery cookies that stare at you through glass cases demanding $$$ and your remaining self-respect.

Important cookie debate:
crispy edge vs soft center
chilled dough vs straight bake
and at what point does a Nutella cookie just become a tiny personal brownie pretending to be a cookie? 😄

Mini chocolate cupcakes with raspberry frosting and fresh raspberries on top 🍫❤️

Made these bite-sized specifically so people could say:
“I’ll just have one.”

Narrator:
They did not just have one.

Dark chocolate cupcakes + tart raspberry frosting might honestly be one of the most unfair flavor combinations ever created.
The fresh raspberry on top is there to provide the illusion of nutritional responsibility

I need honest opinions from the baking crowd:
Do minis taste better than full-size cupcakes?
Chocolate + raspberry… underrated or elite-tier combo?
And how many mini cupcakes officially counts as “having a slice of cake”? Asking for legal reasons 😄
