With talk of the wedding blowing up all over social media there seems to be a noticeable amount of fans who think they personally know Taylor’s wants and desires.

Is it the longer you’re a fan the more you think you know her? Or is it the personalised fan interactions she engaged in earlier in her career that make people feel connected to her on a personal level? Or is it simply the music that led people to think she was giving completely accurate descriptions of her dreams and desires?

I became a fan at the beginning of the eras tour so I haven’t followed Taylor closely for that long but have never been as strong a fan of someone as I am of her. I just don’t understand how some fans feel so deeply betrayed and confused by a wedding venue that has nothing to do with them.

This era really shows how little people know Taylor the person. At every turn a surprise, something she wasn’t expected to do or that doesn’t fit an idea or image of their favourite celebrity. And when it all gets too hard to accept that she isn’t the concept they had of her in their minds, they run for the hills and join the haters who are mostly former fans themselves who never really let Taylor go. They just turned their worship into vitriol.
