I started my journey with anime through Death note back in 2013 i think. I had watched the anime at least 3 or 4 times and yet somehow I never saw this shot in the anime….a shot of the twin towers as if they had never fallen. Apparently in this universe. L was such an amazing detective, he intervened the terrorists plans and stopped 9/11. Too bad Kira exists in that universe.

Well 13 years later passed by, I’ve been to Japan 3 times. Spoke the language, engaged with the locals, fell in love with their customs and ways of life….i fell in love with Japan hard.

I find out the man who designed the structures you see in the first image, was named minoru Yamasaki. A Japanese American man who believed in beautiful architecture. I decided I wanted to recreate his magnum opus to say thank you for all he did for this country and what he did for architecture. I fell in love with his magnum opus.

The word for Japan is 日本nihon.
The word for two long objects (like the twin towers) is 二本 nihon.
So in a way, I once again fell in love with Nihon
(日本)
(二本).

The first anime I ever watched was Death Note, and somehow I never caught this shot in the anime….

Apparently in this universe, L’s detective skills were so brilliant he intervened the terrorists plans and stopped 9/11 from occurring…….god I wish that were true….

Edit:
