Commission Questions - Replicas

Made my way over here from ManyBaggers!

What's the policy for commission requests to replicate a discontinued bag with personalized modifications? My Peak Design 10L Sling v1 has finally broken (teeth has ripped away from the body) and besides a potential repair - I want to know if it's possible for a bag maker to fully replicate the bag with tweaks. The v2 just isn't in the same ballpark at all - it took Peak a while to send me a warranty replacement which I'm super impressed + very grateful for but it's just not the same.

Tweaks that come to mind are removing the two capture attachment points, making the height a little taller, a more comfortable strap. What kind of cost would we be looking at? Is it even possible for a maker to source materials for one-offs like this? It even transpired that I could send them the bag to reuse all the metal hardware.

This has been the perfect bag for a 14" MPB and some pouches / accessories for work / EDC in general AND it's done double camera duty transporting a Z8, 14-24, 70-200, batteries, chargers, and accessories AND perfectly fitting a Z8 with 70-200 f2.8 mounted. Just can't find anything else like it.

Replica Bag Makers

Are there bag makers that take on requests for replicas - with personalized tweaks?

I'm curious to know how much of a mark up there is versus the original cost of the bag. Naturally there will be price increases to source materials in low volumes but is it like 3x? 5x? 10x?

There are only so many ways to make a bag unique but does this cross some kind of honour amongst custom bag makers? Does this infringe / violate trademarking?

I just got a new bag and sitting it next to the old version I'm like completely in shambles because the newer version is giving me WTF vibes. I just want essentially the same bag that is now discontinued, with obvious improvements.

So I’m looking for a lamp

My ceiling lights are terrible and really only functional for cold white. I messed up and need to change them at some point.

In the interim is there a single floor lamp powerful enough to light a room in nice warm light that is NOT LED?

I have a govee floor lamp and tripod with pleated lampshade that I turn both on when. it using the ceiling lights but I’m looking for something to cast way more light to supplement or even replace them at times. Floor standing is ideal though I’m open to maybe two smaller ones (must match) to go on the bookcases next to the main tv. Are those portable lamps the way to go?

I’m not sure what else may be needed for a recommendation. I think I may be your worst customer looking for something nice, contemporary, not TOO expensive, and also not too plain Jane. Maybe a torch style? My ceilings are low (2.4 meters or so) and room is about 3.5x6 meters

High static pressure fans to vent hot air out of house

Has anyone tried using noctuas to vent hot air through window mesh? I see there is a noctua converter that can plug directly into the wall. I'm thinking about making an array to literally serve as an exhaust fan to move hot air from upstairs outside, hopefully drawing more cold air from downstairs.

Am I crazy?

Best way to stop a sofa from sliding - Togo edition

Is there any tried and true method of keeping a smooth leather Togo from sliding around on wood floors? We‘ve had a fairly low pile rug previously and that didn’t quite work. Tried some yoga mats and rug grip pads but movement is still there. is there any product that will reliably keep a Togo from moving so much?

Also bonus question - any one ever heard of raising the height of their Togo? Loved the look at first sight but it is one of those form of function moments where living with it as your main couch long term is kinda tough because of the super low height. I’ve considered building some type of wooden frame to raise it a few inches and also keep the segments together, perhaps a half height rear frame. I think I’d still need some type of grip pads to keep it from moving on wood either way.

ILE Inside Line Equipment - Transit 15L

Would anyone that has the Transit 15L kindly share some photos / perspective? I’m quite close to pulling the trigger on a VX with Cobra. Been hunting for my next bag and this about fits the current GAS bill.

Do the side water bottle pockets push a lot into the main compartment? How secure are they? would anything every fall out? They don’t seem to have a zipper but seem to essentially “lock” by design.

What is the actual depth available in the main bucket when a laptop is present? Is it enough for a small fixed mirror less… could it stretch to a larger mirrorless and lens setup?

The laptop section: is it suspended? could you fit an iPad in as well or is it only thick enough for a single laptop?

Would love to get any photos… just not Imgur cause I’m in the UK.
