Annoying synergy of bugs. Cannot seduce a courtier because she is sick. She has been sick forever.
I invited this courtier to safely seduce her but her chest pains symptom glitched forever. Game won't let me seduce her for some reason - such option does not even appear in the diplomacy menu. Court physician won't treat her for some reason. Quite a deadlock. Demon worshippers are off. To prove you that I can seduce courtiers I am providing a picture of random debutante.
It seems like the game forces my hand to divorce my wife for a wooping 4 so I could marry that sick genius woman. Eugenics is a weird hobby.
EDIT: In the end I just banished her and seduced other genius woman. Even when she is a different court I still cannot seduce her xD.
Khazarian Jewish Aquitaine.
I have no idea how the AI managed to pull this one out. Never seen something like this!
Succession Game is about to begin!
Today we are launching a new special flair: "succession game".
Over three weeks ago 18 daredevils had heed my call. And Today, I am pleased to inform you that preparations for the campaign are underway.
So far the Players had decided that the game will start in the year 867 on Iberian Peninsula as custom made, Catholic count of Urgell and the Redditors House will be called: "Love". There are still some minor things to decide but when it's all done you will be able to read the chronicles of the House Love. Under this tag. Made and played exclusively by members of Our Community.
Expect the unexpected!
Shakira got captured and sacrificed to the bloodthirsty gods!
You don't see this every day. Hellenic Finns.
They requested mass conversion.
Just spent 45 minutes explaining crusader kings and paradox games to my therapist ama
My therapist asked me why I seemed to not be paying attention on our call and I told him that im playing crusader kings. He asked what it was and this was essentially my reply:
Its a crazy game where you start as a guy and try to become king but I have NO IDEA what the fuck im doing I dont understand what de jure means or why I keep having FUCKING PEASANT REBELLIONS because I dont understand how to combine fucking French succession laws from 1200 with an excel spreadsheet effectively and IM NOT EVEN PLAYING THAT VERSION *explains after the end mod* AND NOW IM OHIO and its cool because it was run by Tim Misneys descendents BUT MY FUCKING CHARACTER DIED AND I KEEP HAVING TO INVADE MICHIGAN BECAUSE MY SIBLING TAKES IT WHENEVER MY CHARACTER DIES AND I DONT KNOW WHY BECAUSE AGAIN FRENCH SUCCESSION LAW and now I have a fucking jihad beating my ass run by a guy that took over Chicago to cosplay as the monopoly man and my lady has typhus and I have 200 hours in and thats small fries for these kinds of games *tirade about other paradox games* I hate them and I love them theyre so complicated and it literally takes a year to learn them and even when I do I probably STILL WONT UNDERSTAND PEASANT REBELLIONS
His reply: That sounds... convoluted.
Edit: I was only distracted for a minute when he called because I was playing before the call. Once I realized I was distracted I got off and began pacing around my house and yelling.
Rule no 2 ovehaul
As of Today, the second rule of our our community changes its wording to better cover the issue of intellectual property rights. The new meaning is as follows.
Respect the intellectual property rights of the game owner.
In accordance with Reddit global rules, posts or comments encouraging piracy or the circumvention of intellectual property laws, license verification systems, or digital storefront validation methods are strictly forbidden on r/crusaderkings2. Such posts will be removed without warning, and repeat offenders will face punishment.
This means not only piracy but also sharing or referencing all kind of shenaningans that could lead to obtaining the DLCs illegaly will be penalized. This move is firstly, to respect Paradox Interactive rights. Secondly, to protect the community from Reddit's wrath. Finally, to respect all members that obtained the DLCs trough legal means.
Moreover, there will be no exceptions to the enforcement of the rule. Not even for approved users with high karma such as u/Savurgan-Kaplan0761, who is now perma banned and striped of his rank for repeatedly breaking Paradox Interactive's IPR. Let his case serve as example, that I will be taking this matter seriously. Very seriously.
PS. And just to clarify: game mods do not fall under that rule and are obviously welcomed.
Lets do the Succession Game!
How does it work?
- Vritually everyone can volunteer to participate in the event.
- We democratically pick a time and a place. Preferably a count tier ruler.
- We democratically choose the dynasty name.
- Then the game begins starting with the first player who volunteered.
- He takes control over said county. Designes its banner. Designes it's ruler. Plays for a ruler's lifetime and then passes the save to another participant.
- Also each player is oblieged to publish cronicles concerning their rulers life either in the form of After Action Report (with screenshots) or as a youtube video. Whichever you prefer. The idea is to keep the community updated.
What do you think? Would you like to participate in such a game? Anyone interested should add I'm in, in their comment. Registration will be open for the next two weeks.
EDIT: I can actually start with the first member of the dynasty if you guys are to intimidated to start. But we still still pick up dynasty name and banner together.
Using my vast knowlegde of the game mechanics and patience I have trained AI to assist me in creating interesting builds for Reformed Hellenic Roman Empire
The goal here was to find a satysfying min-max build for my current Byzantine campaign. Not a best build of all time. Because there is no such thing. There are many posibilites to reform pagan religion depending on what you aming for, what is your personality and what is your playstyle.
I give you my word that AI only acted as an Robot Assisant speeding up the process. It took me some time to to teach it nuances and synergies between the religious traits and make it understand the strategic location of my empire. I often pointed out its mistakes and it kept appologizing me and correcting its mistakes. What was the AI's own invention are the names of the builds.
And here are the results of our work:
- Build no 1 aka Golden Age of the New Olympus:
- Nature: Proselytizing
- Doctrine 1: Civilized
- Doctrine 2: Stability
- Leadership: Temporal
- Application as interpreted by AI Assistant:
- The perfect setup for aggressive, global religious expansion. Proselytizing allows your vassals to rapidly wipe Christianity and Islam from the map. Civilized completely removes penalties for raising vassal troops, enabling permanent war. Stability allows you to "breed" brilliant rulers through the Meliorism decision, which directly translates into dominance in Imperial Election votes. As the Temporal Pope, you personally control the goals of the Great Holy Wars.
- Build no 2 aka Steadfast Philosophical Rome
- Nature: Unyielding
- Doctrine 1: Monasticism
- Doctrine 2: Religious Tax
- Leadership: Temporal
- Application as interpreted by AI Assistant:
- A true mechanical monster emulating the ancient Roman provincial system. Vassals with the Unyielding trait almost never convert provinces (only a few with the Zealous trait do), which, combined with the Religious Tax, causes millions of non-Christians to generate a gigantic, steady stream of gold for your treasury. Monasticism allows you to confine less capable sons to monasteries, permanently removing them from the line of succession and ensuring that the Roman electors will only vote for your brilliant favorite.
- Build no 3 aka The Dark Empire:
- Nature: Unyielding
- Doctrine 1: Bloodthirsty Gods
- Doctrine 2: Religious Tax
- Leadership: Temporal
- Application as interpreted by AI Assistant:
- An alternative for players who enjoy a darker atmosphere. Unyielding Nature grants your armies a powerful +80% morale and defense bonus on home soil. Mass sacrifices in the Colosseum, thanks to Bloodthirsty Gods, generate massive amounts of piety and allow you to unlock a unique bloodline (Sacrificial Bloodline). Religious Tax ensures that the rich, conquered Christian and Muslim lands fund your elite professional troops (retinues).
So what do you guys think. Have we did a good job? If you have any questions regarding any of these builds I will answer them in the comments.
PS. I had just realized this proces took me about 8 hours. What have I done with my day... But still, the most satysfying thing was that AI actually started to understand the syngergies and nuances of pagan reformation. What I posted here is only a tiny bit of what I went trough. I really like these three builds and if I had much more time I would restart this campaign twice just to try them all.
PS2. My general conclusion here would be that AIs can be a very useful tool for experienced gamers given that they know what they are doing. Beginners won't make any use of these - the raw, agreeable, clueless and often halucinating AI will only mislead them. Sorry Newbies, you still have to learn by the oldfashioned way ;)
Approved Users (aka the Varangians) and Mods can now create video comments
reddit.comPost Flairs reform.
Here is my idea for new names of post flairs to make things more accurate and interesting
"Curiousities" instead of "Screenshots" for one, max two screenshotted curiousities from the game.
"Stories long and short" instead of "Story" for AARS, short stories, long stories and youtube videos.
"Help!" will remain as it is.
"Mods & Modding" instead just "Mods" to make it obvious it is not only for asking about mods, presenting them but also for advice or modding.
"Humor and Memes" instead of just "Memes"
"Game debate & Community Guides" instead of just "Discussion" because discussions happen all the time. I want to be more specific. Alternatively we could brake them into two.
"Moderators Post" will stay as it is.
"Other" will also stay as it is. For anything thats does no fit the cathegories about.
What do you think? Do you have your own ideas?
Rare Golden Seljuk appears!
They have set Oghuz as their primary title for some reason.
Must have mods that you would recommend to others
As the title says. Share your experience with community!
How are NPCs able to fabricate claim on Holy Order's baronies?
"Something is rotten in the state of Denmark"
Turns out this dude was a leader of Suomenusko Cult (90+ members) all along, working is secret for decades! He had outlived my mother, who was his cousin. Installed as king by faction demand. By causing a claimant war, the nobles of Kattegat (formerly Denmark) reversed a succesful war of the rightful King against Catholic Lotharingia. All this effort from faithful Reformed Slavics, just to put Leader of Hostile Cult on a throne!
It appears that dude spent his entire life preparing grounds for Suomenusko in all counties of de-jure "Denmark". He brought the Duke of Jylland (the former king he replaced) into the Cult. He brought my son and heir into the Cult, caused him to be branded as an Apostate and when my son had finally inherited the Slavic Union, this guy decided to go public. The audacity of this character... But anyways, all his efforts go in vain, because I am not going to support a religion with 0% moral authority, mid game. Sucks to suck, mister Cult Leader.
Somehow, I really regret not letting King Vasiliy die in the oubliete when playing as my mother, right after branding him as an Apostate. Sometimes, it is just better not to ransom certain people, even if the price is good xD.
PS. The events shown in this post happen only a couple of months from the Peak Degeneracy and belong to the same timeline as The weirderst Denmark you will ever see. Also turns out, it can be even weirder xD.
Should we continue with Medieval Mondays?
I am asking this question because of very low interest in that themed day.
Jewish Empire of Hispania done by AI.
This is one of my first CK2 screenshots. Made back in 2018, with version 2.8.X (Jade Dragon).
It happened because son and heir of the Muslim Emperor was somehow educated by their Court Physician with his culture and religion and it stayed like this for good.
As for myself, I started in 867 as Emperor Basil Makedon with the intent to restore Rome. Perhaps my 3rd or 4th campaign ever in ck2. Probably the first one to become successful. Easy difficulty, no ironman xD. Generic game settings - Black Death screwed us royally but I still made it through.
EDIT: No, actually it was not quite successful. I just had a flashback. After I restored SPQR borders, the Aztec came and ruined me xD.
