when exactly does it “get better”

I got my mixed rescue 2 weeks ago today, he’s a good puppy he’s doing good with potty training and much better with crate training. i feel like there’s something wrong with me because i’m battling the back and forth of honestly not wanting him anymore.

I have been wanting my own dog for months now, I have a dog, but he lives at home with my family and i live alone. i never planned to get a puppy but the dog i wanted had a litter and she was adopted so i adopted one of her babies.

14 weeks old (12 when i got him) and can be an absolute demon. he’s biting anything and everything and it feels the only time i can stand him is when he’s napping.

Everyone says how it gets easier. but every day feels like a constant battle of wanting to return him. my whole life feels like it revolves around him and i feel like i haven’t had any free time that doesn’t involve caring for him in some way.

I want to try the 1 hour up 2 hours in crate, but i feel bad having him on his crate for so long.

drowning in the puppy blues after a week

I brought home my 12-week-old rescue puppy, Kota, about a week ago, and I honestly feel like my mental health has fallen apart.

I spent months thinking about getting a dog, researching, buying supplies, and preparing. This wasn't an impulsive decision. But the reality of raising a puppy has hit me so much harder than I ever expected.

He barks while I'm trying to eat, brush my teeth, shower, or even just sit down for a minute. I feel like I have to watch him every second he's awake, and I'm constantly stressed about what he's doing. Between the lack of sleep, the crate barking, the biting, and trying to keep up with college, I feel completely overwhelmed.

Everyone keeps telling me, "It gets better," but I'm struggling to believe it because right now I just feel miserable. I cry almost every day and feel like my depression has gotten so much worse since bringing him home.

The thing is, I don't want to rehome him. I've invested so much into him emotionally and financially, and he's actually such a sweet puppy. He cuddles with me, sleeps against my leg, and I can already see glimpses of the amazing dog he could become. I just feel like I'm barely surviving this stage.

If you went through something similar, when did it finally click for you? When did you stop feeling trapped and start enjoying your dog? I'd really appreciate honest stories and encouragement from people who have been in my shoes.

Please don’t judge, i’m struggling

I adopted an 11-week-old rescue puppy from a shelter 4 days ago, and I honestly haven't been able to stop crying since bringing him home.
I want to mention that this wasn't a spur-of-the-moment decision. I've been talking about getting my own dog since January and spent months thinking about it, preparing, and making sure I was ready. That's part of why I'm so confused by how I'm feeling now.
I care about Kota so much and I'm making sure he's well taken care of, but emotionally I've been overwhelmed. I keep wondering if I made the wrong decision, and the guilt from even having that thought makes me cry even more.
I'm also struggling because I'm someone who likes to take good care of my belongings, so the chewing and destruction that comes with raising a puppy has been giving me a lot of anxiety. On top of that, the biting has been nonstop. I knew puppies nipped, but I didn't expect to feel so mentally drained by it.
I also keep comparing everything to my family dog and feel guilty, almost like I'm replacing him, even though I know that's not my intention.
I've heard of the "puppy blues," but I didn't expect them to feel this intense. I keep crying, second-guessing myself, and wondering if I'm cut out for this.
I'm not posting because I want to give Kota up. I rescued him because I wanted to give him a loving home, and I truly want to make this work. I'm just hoping to hear from people who felt regret, anxiety, or sadness in those first few days and eventually settled into life with their puppy.
Please be kind. I could really use encouragement and honest experiences from people who've been through it.

could it be constipation

Hi, I’m wondering if anyone has dealt with something similar because I’m honestly exhausted at this point. Back in February I started having a ton of digestive/stomach issues. I ended up getting my gallbladder removed in March because they thought that was the cause, but even after surgery I’m still struggling. I get nauseous after basically every meal, usually starting about 2 hours after eating. Sometimes I also get this warm/burning feeling in my stomach/chest and chest pressure. I had an EGD/endoscopy done recently and it came back normal, including biopsies, so now I feel even more frustrated because I still feel awful but don’t really have answers. I can barely eat without feeling sick afterward and it’s starting to affect my everyday life. Has anyone had ongoing nausea after gallbladder removal or normal GI tests and eventually figured out what was causing it? I have lost a tremendous amount of weight and i’m so sad about it.

help me please i can’t take this anymore

I’m honestly at a loss and wondering if anyone has dealt with something similar. Back in February I started having pretty severe digestive issues and nausea after eating. I ended up getting my gallbladder removed in March because they thought it was the cause, but I’m still struggling. I had an EGD today and everything came back normal, which is reassuring but also frustrating because I still feel awful. The biggest issue is nausea that starts around 2 hours after eating, and at this point I can barely eat anything without feeling sick. Has anyone had persistent nausea after gallbladder removal with a normal endoscopy? If so, did you ever figure out what was causing it or what helped?
