Need Help and Advice + Story

Hi I'm (21F). I had digestive issues since I was about 12. For context my dad has IBS, and my grandma (my dad's mom) had IBS and mild colitis. Both suffer from chronic constipation + severe acne. My little sister has lactose intolerant and chronic constipation since she was born. And my grandma on my mom side has IBS + Diverticulitis

For me I didn't show any side until I had turn 12. With the acne I had it around since 4th grade (11). I never thought it would actually go away because of how bad it was. And at the time I didn't know my bio dad until later I just had my mom and step dad. Both of them ignore all my problems until I had turn 18 and was able to leave.

Signs started with fast food, junk food, soda, you get the idea that none of that was healthy cause that all what my mom bought. Started with stomach pain, full hard bloating, and feeling yucky inside. So when I was able to leave I stop eating those. Started to notice butter hurt my stomach in the morning when I ate eggs so I stop and replace with butter and it was gone. Still had problems that eventually lead to chronic burping (like I had soda and middle age man for context), bloating, hard gas passing through, nauseous, acid reflux, heart burn, still having chronic acne all of it was everyday.)

Finally met a gi doctor just last year did the low fodmap diet and when I did I notice I cannot handle Diary, Gluten, Raw Apples, Garlic, Onions, Most Beans, lots of added sugars, etc. I can't even eat butter and 1 kitkat without the next day getting full on diahrea. After the diet was complete all my acne was practically gone. I'm taking like months of acne scars that were there for years were gone. I even notice my gut has actually calm down to. I could feel it but the symptoms were still coming. Even around my monthly acne where I break down I used to get it all around my chin, all gone only gotten two pimples :")

I did labs such as Cat Scan (had chronic stool burden), did the allergy test for wheat and diary all negative, did Celiac disease panel, negative, did other bloodworks to rule stuff out all came back normal.

My question is has anyone experienced something very similar? Espically with acne? I know gut health is really important and I have been taking Symbiotic gummies and did help my acne a bit but the low fodmap diet completely fix my acne.

And anyone who has does this sound like it could be SIBO? I'm running out of options as to what it could be. My primary doctor won't do the lactose breath test because he said it's not accurate. My little sister we share the same dad but different moms but no one on her mom's side is lactose intolerant.

Any advice is appreciated as I been dealing with this. I brought up the kitkat because my digestive system had just crash for 3 days and I was just so nauseous, had horrible stomach pain that lasts so much.

Thanks for any advice or sharing your stories.

Need Help With Unsusal Circumstances

Hi! I wanted to ask if anyone similar had to go through a process for Unsusal Circumstances. My counselor doesn't seem to know what I need for it and to ask FASFA and then nothing appears for the task to submit a document for my Unsusal Circumstances. Since before in the community college I had to have a family member write it out and submit it as another party of proof of my situation.

Dad left when I was 2 and my mom left me when I was 17 (just a few months before I turn 18) so I was alone and had to move back home in a different state and I have no contact with either parent or where they are.

Just wanted to know how long the process took and what you had to do to get the fasfa moving forward if it's different from having someone write a letter.

Thanks!

Need Some Advice

I'm 21(F). For almost a year now I have been just having trouble consuming diary as it has gotten worse and worse. AndI do have other food intolerances such as gluten, apples, onion, garlic, and mostly beans (IBS-C). Along with that I'm someone who had has chronic acne I'm taking like not only my face but also my chest, legs, shoulders, back, etc since I was 11.

Last year I notice my stomach started to get upset when I use butter with eggs for a few months, took butter away completely and replace it with a bit of oil: everything fine. Did this from now on because all I gotten was a bit upset.

It eventually turn to me burping constantly 24/7 eating, getting gas, nauseous & acid reflux, gurling,, hard bloating, painful gas passing through it was just constant.

When I saw my GI for the first time she recommended me a low fodmap diet did the diet and found diary is the most serious trigger. To the point where my acne has basically cleared up like I didn't even have acne. So when I told her gluten and diary was a serious trigger I did all the regular testings. Everything came back normal for the tests they wanted me to do to rule out more serious conditions.

I just ate a orange chocolate kitkat two days ago because I been craving one and haven't had one in a while. Just one and the next day I just had the worst upset stomach at work, gurling, full on diahrea, nauseous, like I didn't want to even finish my dinner. As of this morning my stomach is still upset. Not as bad as the day before but it's the cramping and feeling really yucky inside.

when I did do the low fodmap diet my Nana accidentally got me a diary dilly bar at Diary Queen. Either way I ate because at least I know I will have the symptoms or not. Not even a hour in just constant burping, hard gas again, upset stomach, etc.

I ask my primary doctor to do a lactose breath test or anything very similar and he told me they aren't always accurate. I told him I understand but I think I really need it because the amount of pain I'm in just for when using a bit of butter, eating small candy bars that has diary (I did try chocolate with no diary no issues at all) but just the amount of how much my acne has also changed its amazing.

I did even try lactose free cream cheese and milk, no issues at all but still mild breakouts here and there but still not as painful.

Has anyone have any similar situations? I will reach out to my GI doc directly to get the lactose test but in the meantime has anyone experienced very similar just by eating a small amount of diary its very painful.

It's sucks because I used to be able to eat all these foods. I love butter with eggs and I know butter doesn't have a lot of lactose but I still get the same reaction every time. I even try A2 milk because my gi doctor told me some people cant handle A1 milk but can handle A2 milk better, i try two separate times and still got the same reaction..but it seems like I mostly get it the next day.
