My Ongezellig WhatsApp Series

I made all of these about 8 months ago, and haven't made one since.

Info about a few of these:

-Ravi saying Mymy leaves orange juice boxes everywhere is what i wrote cuz I thought that's what Mymy was drinking in the deels.

-Maya having Anke listed as "alt" means that Anke is an alt account for Maya, a 2nd account if you will, since Anke is just imaginary in the Ongezellig world and isnt a real person to Maya.

-Whenever a text starts with "YOU:", it means that said text is being sent, rather than received.

-I wrote the peebs to text like that cuz that's just how I think they would text.

What Would YOU Ask The (main) Ongezellig Cast?

Yes, I made this, and yes, I'm gonna start reposting my really good stuff from over a year ago cuz I dont like how they only really have 1 moment in the spotlight before they're forgotten forever, plus there's alot more people here now than there were a year ago, so alot of new fans are gonna see and appreciate my old works as well, of which there are almost 500. I think I'm only gonna post my stuff thats over a year old, unless i consider it to be exceptionally good, then I'll post that too, but not something from like 2 months ago lol. Not gonna repost all old stuff ofc, but just the really good ones and things that I believe deserve a 2nd chance in the spotlight. Am I also doing this because I'm lazy and think recycling old content is easy? Oh absolutely, but also it exposes my older works to a bigger audience that probs never seen my older stuff before, plus I have some new ideas lined up that I wanna make soon, memes and edits and such. Gonna have to balance all that with my continuous Europe trip, of which I'll be in Paris in a few days. I'll be fine tho. I have a wide library of almost 500 pieces of Ongezellig media I made so I want some of it to be seen more than once, and this one here is a personal favourite.

INTRO/OTHER NONSENSE

Hallo!! This isnt anything too important i think, but rather I just wanna talk about the Ongezellig Movie and how it came to be, and how I feel now that it's finally done. If you don't know, and I'm sure many of you dont, I began this project solo all the way back in March 2025, where I had made a post declaring that the Ongezellig Movie Screenplay writing had begun. At that point, I had hoped for a quick and easy task to be put upon me by myself, but after the first few days, I truly realized how big this thing would be. I planned out the plot, characters, and overall story right from the beginning, as the plot was purely an inspiration from the idea that Eiko finds Mymy, which I'm pretty sure i read from the Massa lore docs. The only thing I had to figure out from then was what happens next, which didnt take too long. I wanted there to be some adventure, I always had. Well, maybe not a true adventure, but a story that takes place in new locations, at least for Ongezellig.

PROCESS

So, in the very early stages of writing, i did have an editor for this, but i dropped them after like less than 2 weeks and scrapped everything from that first draft, so everything from the minimal work with the editor is gone. After that, I completely restarted from fresh and began again. Besides that short period, everything else in this entire Screenplay was a completely solo effort, which ABSOLUTELY contributed to the fact this took so long. People offered to help, but my thought process was "only I know how i want this story to go and read and feel", so I declined their help. General process for writing the Screenplay was simple in words: spend an hour or 2 writing, go do other stuff for the day, repeat tomorrow, etc. Unfortunately, at the time I was also very busy juggling many other things in both this Fandom and irl, including school, daily Ongezellig posts, podcasting, what have you. It got to the point where I just pulled a Massa and got burnt out and quit for a while. Over the summer and fall, I shifted my efforts into more posting and irl stuff, and eventually to creating and managing my own server, Coco Empire. In late fall and early winter, I returned to the Screenplay and told myself that it'll be done by next year (2026), and proceeded to spend a little time almost everyday on it. I then released a trailer, a couple more posts about the Movie with information about plot, release time, released a poster i made soon before the Screenplay released, and then the Screenplay itself. The time leading up to that wasn't too special, besides that the final couple weeks were kinda slow in terms of editing and reviewing the final Screenplay due to me being in The Netherlands. I released it on May 1st, 2026, just like I said I would.

ACTUAL REFLECTION

Honestly, there have been many, maaany points while writing where I thought that this would never get done. I had so many burnouts, writer's block, busy schedule, and there was a time where I didntceven wanna write it, but i also wanted to finish something i said i would finish. Maybe that's what motivated me to continue, to deliver something I've been promising for a very long time. Alot has happened and changed since the first announcement post, and through it all, the Ongezellig Movie Screenplay was still written and released. Some people will like it, some people will hate it, and some people wont even read it, but to me, I'm just glad that it's finally done and avaliable for people to read. Im glad it's done. Im so, so so so so so SO glad it's done. I do hope people like it though. It's a rather long Screenplay so I wasn't assuming reviews about it this early anyways. I guess if people do have reviews, you can leave them here as well. I do wanna do a live reading of the whole thing in Coco Empire, if I ever have time, cuz I'm on vacation in Europe currently.

If there's anything I want you to take away from my reflection, it's this: I am one of the very few to break the Ongezellig Curse, to actually finish a mega project I set out to do, BY MYSELF, and to release it on time like I said I would. Early on I said it would be done in Spring 2026, and I stuck true to my word. I'm one of the very few to not succumb to the Massa curse, and to me I think that's kinda amazing, especially since I did everything, EVERYTHING, by myself. (The version of the Screenplay that I released is different from the one i worked on with my 2 week editor, of which there were only about 10 pages. That version is gone, and this current, final version is the one i wrote by myself.) It took a while a REALLY long while, but it's done, and I thank everyone for reading. Fun fact: I made the Movie Logo image you see on this post myself!! Anyways, that's all I gotta say here, so thanks again and enjoy the day/night!!

READ THIS REDDIT POST ALL THE WAY THROUGH BEFORE STARTING THE SCREENPLAY.

INTRO

Hallo!! So, after over a year of work, burnout, delays, whatever, I'm so proud and happy to say that the Ongezellig Movie Screenplay is finally complete and ready for public view!! I'll keep this short so that people can get to the screenplay quicker.

PLOT

I think a plot explanation would be good for people who don't know, so I'll explain here: The plot is that Eiko (Mymy's biological sister from Japan) finally finds Mymy in the Netherlands and takes her back to Japan because their grandmother is ill. Coco and Maya find out and decide to go to Japan to get Mymy back, meanwhile Mymy has to adjust to Japanese culture and get used to her "new" family. Also meanwhile, Maya and Coco go through their own arcs by becoming better versions of themselves, which you'll see as you read on. This isnt exactly a "comedy" in my eyes, more of a grounded story, maaaybe drama? Idk. Grounded for sure, as was the original 6 deels except for the Maya imagination scenes, of which there are some here too.

EXPLAINATION OF A SCREENPLAY

Ok so I feel like this is VERY important for EVERYONE to read, so remember these details carefully. First of all, this is a SCREENPLAY. A screenplay is a TEXT ONLY blue print for producers or animators to bring scenes, shows, or movies to life. It tells what the characters are doing, saying, how they look, etc etc. Screenplays have their own unique format which makes it clear to the reader what is going on. I made it pretty clear in almost ALL my previous Ongezellig Movie posts that this was always a screenplay, even in the beginning. The reason there's some movie posts that dont mention that this is a screenplay is that I got tired of repeating myself and had assumed most people already knew that fact by now, so if you were expecting an actual animated film, sorry but that's not what this is. Anyways, here's a short explanation of screenplay terms you'll see in this one, and I wont include the ones that obvious to what they mean, such as "TEXT (texting on cellphone)":

INT. (Interior): The scene takes place indoors

EXT. (Exterior): The scene takes place outdoors

V.O. (Voice Over): A character’s inner thoughts

BEAT: Another word for "pause". It's used to control the timing of a realization or something else another character has said or done

PAN/TILT: These are just camera movements. Pan means moving the camera horizontally, and tilt is vertically

SMASH CUT: A sudden cut to another shot or scene, used for effect.

The rest are just stuff you should already know, such as Montage. Everyone knows what a montage is.

FINAL STUFF

Sooo yea, that's all I gotta say about this Movie. Hope yall enjoy it, aaand yea, idk. It's cool that I'm releasing this from Amsterdam, Netherlands. Full circle sort of thing, since the series started in the Netherlands. If you have any further questions or feedback about anything else, please feel free to DM me on Discord, Reddit, or Instagram. You can find me. But yea, enjoy!!
