IQ Test: Why is Zoro on this color spread?

IQ Test: Why is Zoro on this color spread?

Zoro is not the First Mate.

Some fans claim the Strawhats do not have a hierarchy past Luffy being captain.

Some fans claim he isn't even the 2nd strongest.

This color spread was printed when Sanji had the 2nd highest bounty.

Question for the community - why did Oda put Zoro on this color spread with the other #2s? 🤔

Yoru > Gram

Basic shonen logic dictates that Zoro's endgame opponent should have a stronger blade than any of his prior foes...including the guy currently holding one of the ancient blades that "created the world."

I've seen some people in this sub claiming that Yoru is weaker than these blades, but logically, Yoru should at least be stronger than Gram.

Mihawk haters gonna have to switch up their agenda a bit and start slandering Gram as the weakest of these 19 weapons 😭😭😭

When you realize that half of this sub would endorse this as "peak" writing

Who's willing to out themselves and explain to the class why this would be good for the story? 🤔

Zoro and Sanji will save Luffy. Not Shanks. Not Dragon.

I've seen a lot of suggestions that Shanks, Dragon, or some other outside force is going to bail Luffy out of his current predicament with Imu. I'm here to tell y'all there is a more likely scenario that Oda has been potentially setting up.

THIS is the moment for the Wings of the Pirate King to officially rise up.

PG 1-3: Oda has recently been putting a lot of emphasis on Zoro and Sanji needing to be stronger in order to truly support Luffy on his climb to the throne of Pirate King. Scopper has called them both out on this. Zoro must learn to hone the use of his Conqueror's haki, while Sanji needs to awaken his.

PG 4: We are explicitly told that the Holy Knights' weakness is Conqueror's haki, which can bypass their immortality regen and potentially kill them.

PG 5-6: Here's where the theory starts to take shape. We have learned two things:

  1. Performing covenants, which gives birth to Imu's Holy Knights, carries with it some kind of risk to Imu.

  2. Being in the lower world also puts Imu at risk in some kind of way.

What if, by defeating Sommers and Killingham, Imu is severely weakened or compromised in some kind of way because he is away from the Holy Land and is forced to retreat back? Perhaps the only reason he can even roam around in Elbaph is because his knights are also there!

I could be wrong and Luffy could get some kind of surprise power up, but I can't help but think that Oda has been building up Zoro and Sanji for a very big moment here in Elbaph.

Thoughts?

One Piece: Dojutsu

This chapter revealed that Shuri's "mismatched eyes" have some kind of special trait which Imu desired. This is pretty exciting because it has some pretty interesting implications for the power system in One Piece.

First of all, it's important to realize that "eyes with abilities" is not a foreign concept in this series. Pudding, by nature of her Third Eye Tribe heritage, is stated to possess the potential to read the Road Poneglyphs.

In chapter 1186, Groh states that Shuri could potentially "awaken" something that he couldn't despite him also having the same mismatched eyes. This directly ties back to Pudding having special eyes with an ability that hasn't been confirmed to have been awakened yet.

What about other characters who's eyes have been made a narrative focal point? Do Loki's eyes have a special trait? Has he awakened it, yet? What about Dracule "Hawk-Eyes" Mihawk, the man who's said to be able to kill with a glance?

I look forward to seeing how Oda develops this. What are your thoughts?
