Beta 350 X-Pro — quieter than stock?

I’m considering a 350 X-Pro, but the place I ride has very strict noise limitations. I know the bike is reasonably quiet in stock form, but has anyone successfully made one noticeably quieter than stock?

I’m not looking for more power — quite the opposite. Happy to sacrifice some performance if necessary. Interested in quieter inserts, alternative silencers, additional packing, or any other setup that genuinely reduces dB without causing problems for the bike.

Anyone done this with a 350 X-Pro (or similar 4-stroke Beta)?

’62 VNB Patina Project — Need Guidance from the Experts

Hi – I’m trying to preserve the patina on this ’62 VNB, but am starting to get a bit lost on the best approach. So far, I’ve given the bodywork a thorough clean and very gently removed any loose rust with fine wire wool. Next step was going to be Carnauba wax.

However, I actually quite like the look of red oxide primer and am wondering if there’s a sensible way to work that into the finish — perhaps painting it into the rustier areas, then sanding it back to blend with the original paint and remaining surface rust? Or is that a terrible idea?

Also interested in thoughts on treating the rustiest areas with phosphoric acid before waxing. Worth doing, or likely to create more problems than it solves?

The original floor was rusted through, so I had no choice but weld in a new one.

Would really appreciate advice from anyone who has successfully preserved original paint/patina without the whole thing turning into a fake-looking mess.
