Is it me, or in the last week has every llm model gotten stupider?

I had a flow going, and was intentionally putting off the Devin update. The day finally came, and I had to restart my computer. I still hadn't hit the upgrade button, but when I opened windsurf for work it had transformed. No worries.. I took it in stride, hopped through some hoops, and went to work, but somehow all of my training, rules, and protocol had not only been forgotten, I have to keep reminding the AI regardless of rules, model updated knowledge base, and RAG — Retrieval-Augmented Generation protocol.. Many times I find myself having to re-word, and re-prompt several times to get a right response even though outside of Devin using the very same version, and model I immediately got my answers, and alignment. Devin desktop forgets between prompts, ignores rules, and just plain screws up all over the place while (happily) burning through tokens...

So unless anyone has a real timeline, and solution, I can't help but feel the windsurf sellers are just singing with glee... 'We got your money... We got your money!!' While we just suffer.

Get it together people. Even if you have to roll back. I think many are being patient, but with so many other options we're going to need a solid plan, commitment, disclosure, times, and dates. I for one will check back occasionally, but am taking the bulk of my work elsewhere for now, because it feels like trying to work it out with a disloyal spouse giving only 60%. So... Nope!

Question for producers who release a lot of music independently:

For anyone on top of their business or working with an indie... How do you stay on top of the business infrastructure side once your catalog starts growing?

We’ve got the creative side covered, and are licensing/releasing/managing songs at a high rate already, but honestly sometimes these tasks pile up to the point where it almost creates mental blocks when I consider ramping up as outsiders seek to collaborate/co-publish etc.

Things like:

  • metadata organization
  • publishing registrations
  • royalty tracking
  • split sheet organization
  • sync catalog prep
  • rights management systems
  • version organization
  • splits management
  • ISRCs
  • file organization/backups

The catalog is growing, but it can get disorganized:

  • versions everywhere
  • if too much time passes sometimes we forget who's on the split if not documented within the song files themselves.
  • missing registrations
  • old computers / hard drives
  • metadata inconsistencies (less of an issue now, but older songs....)

What systems do folks use once the catalog starts getting larger.

Also — for those who eventually hired help:

  • what tasks did you outsource first?
  • what should you watch out for?
  • and where did you actually find reliable people?

I'm thinking I'm going to have to train someone.

I migrated from cursor ai to windsurf ai because it allowed me to create a more flexible schedule for work where I could "binge code" and get things done leaving the rest of my time for my business. I had considered Void ai, but before I even tried it windsurf felt like a game changer for me. I loved the workflow, but this new quota system is forcing me into a rigid schedule again. Not for me thanks. Anyone have any experience with Void?

Also, anyone else experiencing issues with the new quota system?
