I walk through the small wood by Surrenden Field on the way to Withdean gym and I’ve heard what I’m pretty sure is a parrot or parakeet in there.

I’m familiar with the ring necked parakeets in London and this sounds similar to them but isn’t the same. Additionally I have the Merlin birdsong app song app on my phone, and although I’ve caught several choruses from the bird it’s not recognising it as matching anything which is odd because I’ve found it to be pretty good and recognising birds including ring necked parakeets.

Anyone else heard it, seen it or know anything about it?

No screenshots but I can tell you that the three closest cells around the free Stanley in the top left do NOT yield you a Stanley.

Overall I’m pretty careful with my recycling but I always seem to draw a blank when it comes to being able to recycle the clear plastic food trays that fruit, some veg and a lot of chilled food comes in.

I know I should buy food within this packaging but time is tight and it’s not always possible.

I’m pretty sure I can’t put that stuff in the grey bins and, while I have seen local bins for cartons I haven’t seen anyone locally or at the Wilson ave refuse centre.

If someone could give me a steer on where I might be able to recycle this stuff in Brighton I would appreciate it.
