Is this a good scenario for listing my car on Turo?

I am financially pinched at the moment (hopefully temporarily as work is not flowing but I expect it to pick up in fall), and have incurred some debt. I rarely drive and was thinking about selling my car and using car shares instead... but then came across Turo and thought maybe listing my car as a Turo rental could help me keep the car and make some passive $$.

Here's a brief overview of my situation:

  • 2019 VW wagon with low kilometres. Fully paid off
  • The car is AWD but otherwise pretty basic (cloth seats, no sun roof)
  • I only drive around 2000 KM last year and only use the car 1-2x month. Weekends in summer, I like having it to go to the lake or out of town
  • I live in a city that is heavily touristed, especially in spring and summer (less so in fall/winter)
  • I live downtown (not near the airport). There are about 6 other same-make cars, but all all at the airport
  • I'm not that precious about my car... but don't want a giant hassle either. I definitely don't want to make this a business as I have other work I like and need as much time as possible for

Thanks and let me know if any other information would be helpful...

maintenance schedule - low kms

Help! I have a 2019 Sportwagen, which I bought from a VW dealer in 2019, lightly used (showroom car, no accidents). I drive only 2-2.5KM / year and have had it serviced annually at a different VW dealership, local to me.

I went to my local dealership for annual service yesterday and they suggested the 'standard' inspection package, at a cost of "up to" $450, which included the oil change. On top of this was an inspection for a warning light (oil pressure gauge) that had just come on, at up another $200/hr.

The messaged me EOD to let me know it's ready to pick up, and sent me a list of recommended services, which totalled another $2300. I am shocked as I had expected to come away with an annual oil change and light service check... and now have a potential bill of $3K+, which has come at a very bad time as I am trying to pay down some CC debt and back taxes.

My questions are:

  1. - I know VW suggests services at certain KM or time thresholds ("whichever comes first"). Do I need to go by year or can I wait for the KM threshold?
  2. - Can anyone advise as to which of the following needs to be done? Most of the rationales seem to be related to time threshold - not a detected issue:
  • Oil Pressure Sending Unit Replacement: BROWN
  • Cabin/HEPA filter (due every 2 years)
  • Engine air filter (due every 4 years)
  • Brake flush (due every 2 years)
  • Coolant flush
  • Sparkplug replacement (due every 4 years)
  • Haldex service (due every 3 years)
  • Diagnostic - Check Engine Light (this light had come on ONLY at the dealership that day)

Thanks

Question: how polished does my MS (memoir) need to be before submission to agent?

I have been invited to submit a full MS (memoir) to a literary agent, based on a pitch and 10 first pages. I finally have the full ready to go... but it has not been through a professional edit , and I don't have a budget for that. I have been over it myself a number of times but the words are starting to blur and I suspect there are still errors (some clunky sentences, maybe some small repetition, possible grammar or typos). I would say the full is as polished as the first 10 pages were... if that's helpful.

I really want to get it off my plate!! But also don't want to be hasty and shoot myself in the foot.

Questions:

- is it ok to submit without the pro edit?

- should I mention / call attention to this, i.e. as a heads up such "I am unable to hire a professional editor but hope this is polished enough as is for you to consider it"?

- Is there a software that's appropriate to use (doesn't get me into AI territory), beyond MS Word's built-in spell check?
