212(f)

Hi ,

My family member has a previous 212(f) after the June 2025 proclamation. However, he is a Canadian Citizen now and the 212(f) no longer applies. Has anyone with a previous 212(f) ban recently travelled to the US as a dual citizen/with a non banned country passport ? If so how was your experience and were you still flagged at the border ?

Previous 212(f) flag as a Canadian citizen

Hi,

A family member had B1/B2 and O-1 visa applications stuck in administrative processing. After the 2025 presidential proclamation, both were refused under 212(f). He has since become a Canadian citizen and needs to travel to the US for work.

We notified the consulate of his citizenship change, since 212(f) no longer applies to him as a Canadian. We also retained multiple lawyers, and one of them wrote to LegalNet making the same argument. The embassy's response was that the refused applications cannot be reconsidered, and that his only option is to take his chances at the border with the Canadian passport.

The concern is that the old 212(f) refusals are still flagged in the system, so even though the ban no longer applies to him, he could still be denied entry.

Has anyone with a previous 212(f) refusal successfully crossed the border recently with the Canadian passport? Or has anyone managed to get the consulate to update their record after a nationality change so the 212(f) flag no longer triggers?

Thanks in advance. Please be kind.

Prior 212(f) with current Canadian citizenship

Hi ,

One of my friends have a previous 212(f) after the June 2025 proclamation. However, he is a Canadian Citizen now and the 212(f) no longer applies. but it seems like it can still get flagged at the US border and can be denied entry. We are looking for any advice on what to do before entering the US as he also has an O-1 petition approved. We have contacted multiple attorneys but haven't gotten any help. Any attorney suggestions to contact LegalNet, write to the consulate, get a supervisory opinion or any advice is appreciated.

Thank you.

Security clearance (Iran born)

Hi.

New to this page. Sorry if this was already answered before.

If someone was born in Iran but left at 18 (no military and have proof of absence) and after becoming US citizens can they get top secret clearance to work with DoD ? Or is it never possible to work with the DoD because of the birth place ? Also a Canadian citizen.

Also if anyone has successfully was able to renounce the Iranian citizenship please let me know how you did that. Thanks in advance.

Previous 221(f) with Canadian passport

Hi,

One of my family members has a previous 221(f) on the record but now a Canadian citizen. Lived in Canada his whole life, but has a banned country birth place.

Attorney reached out to the embassy about the citizenship change and for visa reconsideration (I understand Canadians don't need visa, but attorney said we should ask for reconsideration though)
Embassy replied saying the visa is still rejected under 221(f) and cannot be reconsidered, and the Canadian citizens dont need visa to enter but its upto the CBP to deny or accept entry to the country. All we want is to close the previous case and close the 221(f).

The issue is he has to go to the US for work but it seems like having the 221(f) on the record can actually deny him entry even with the passport. All we want is to close the previous case, any advice is appreciated here. Thank you

Bleeding on day 11

Hi. This is my top left socket. Today it just bled out of no where and stopped on its own. It’s not too painful but there’s some weird feeling to it. Sometimes a pain come and go but not painful enough to get painkillers. Is that granulation tissue that’s read and is that what it’s bleeding suddenly? Oral surgeon was closed today so I’m kinda scared what’s going on

Accidentally hit the brush top wisdom tooth

Hi. I’m 8 days post op for top and bottom wisdom tooth. I accidentally hit the front few bristles of the tooth brush on the top (I think) because it started to bleed a lot after. There’s a bit of pain but not unbearable. Is this a dry socket or something else ?

I gently spat and now I’m worried

Hi. I had top and bottom wisdom teeth extracted Friday mid day. Saliva was so slimy, on Saturday I gently used my front teeth to get rid of the saliva to spit. I can’t get rid of the sliminess even after salt water so a couple of times I did a gentle push of saliva out of the mouth with my tongue. Am I screwed with a dry socket now. I’m super worried now.

Fasting before anesthesia

HI, I have a wisdom teeth appointment for 2 pm tomorrow. I was told to fast for 8 hours. But it will be from 6 am so I wont be able to eat around that time. Is it okay if I dont eat from tonight like 11 pm? would it be too much fasting for sedation?

Wisdom teetth removal tomorrow and freaking out

Hi everyone,
I have two of my wisdom teeth getting removed tomorrow (left bottom and top) bottom one has a cavity and the top one is infected from inside after a filling. They said I will get IV sedation, I am super worry about IV sedation, swelling or being dizzy and nauseous afterwards. Please share your IV sedation experiences? Did you say funny stuff after?
