First time working 60hrs

Back during Prime Week I was technically scheduled to work the full 60hrs but our FC sent out a lot of VTO that week so I got pretty close but didn’t quite hit it.

This week, however, is the first time I’ve actually picked up enough VET to hit the max 60hrs. The problem is, I picked up the shifts after I’d already worked my 2 normal shifts (part-time employee). During those 2 shifts, I worked around 20hrs and 12 minutes. At this point in the week, I’m at 30 hours and 13 minutes. How do I go about fixing these random few minutes on my Saturday shift? I was already planning to leave 3 hours early for a friend’s baby shower & use PTO for the remainder of my shift, but how do I plan for this in the app? Will the app automatically prevent me from going over 60hrs? I know I won’t get in trouble because either way I won’t have physically worked 60hrs since I’m leaving a little early anyway, I just don’t want it flagged in the system and for them to have to find me during Sundays shift to fix it/explain the situation.

Basically— do I need to actually wait until Saturday and calculate it myself before clocking out, or will the AtoZ app automatically prevent me from going over 60hrs if I leave early anyway?

Internal Transfer Question

I currently work 4x 10-hour shifts from 6:30pm-5am Sun-Wed in Pick. Last week, I went ahead and applied for an internal transfer to switch to part-time in anticipation of school this fall because I knew there would probably be an influx of people trying to put in transfers in July/August & wanted to increase my chances of getting chosen. The good news is that I just received the offer to switch to Sun/Sat 7:30am-6pm part-time. However, the start date for this is the second week of July.

My question is: Do part-time employees still receive notifications for shifts that are available to add through the A to Z app? I’m still able to work 40-60 hour weeks up until the start of school. Like I said, I just wanted to get ahead of anyone else looking to cut their hours. However, I don’t want to lose out on nearly a month and a half of pay.

Also, since it’s an internal transfer, I’m assuming all my UTO and PTO stays in the app and wouldn’t “start from scratch”, right? I tried finding any information to either of these questions on the page the offer sent me, but all it included was a link to my original job offer and a breakdown of my new shift pay and schedule.

Currently in my second week working nights in picking, and my trainer told me to start fast and it’ll make the rest of the night “easier” on my rate. At the start of our shift and at the end of our lunch break, we have a quick floor meeting and they tell us the units per hour rate we should be averaging. Today, for example, it was 73. I assume this is something they’re monitoring—but my question is, if the units per hour rate is fluctuating throughout the night/shift, which one are they looking at? Between clocking in to the time I took my lunch break, I hit 83 units per hour at one point. After lunch to my first break, the highest I hit was only 69 one hour and then 73 the next. Do they take the highest? Do they look at the average of the entire shift? I’m so confused about how they measure your productivity. Is it even about the picking rate at all, or is it about the total units you do the whole shift?

Any clarification would be helpful because my hiring group was nearly 100 people, so there wasn’t really an opportunity to ask questions before they threw us out onto the floor. Thanks!!

Hi! I am currently in my second week working nights and one of my shifts next week is scheduled for 2 hours after the commencement ceremony starts for my college graduation 😅 I’m sure it was covered during orientation, but how does the process of “calling in” work here? I literally have never spoken to my manager, and my last 2 shifts in picking I haven’t come across anyone that isn’t a seasonal employee to ask. Can someone just explain what I’ll do come this time next week? Do I alert someone once I realize I’m “sick” and can’t come in? Or do I just not show up and do something after the fact? Thanks in advance!
