Alternative to tent ridge due to road closure

Hello all,

My trip to banff is approaching next week and I'm considering substituting another hike to replace tent ridge due to the road closure. It was high on our list but the road detour makes it an almost 2 hour drive from Canmore each way.

I'm looking for another premier hike to add to our plan of cirque peak, sentinel pass to paradise valley, and Parker ridge. Any suggestions would be much appreciated. I'm considering hikes like iceline, the onion, Wilcox pass, and devils thumb as alternatives. Which would you suggest out of these or any other options?

Season 3 slow down

I've really enjoyed the first two seasons but this third season has been a complete drag. It feels like nothing has really happened besides Smurf getting out of jail. Does it pick back up or does the show follow down this path? The story line feels like it's lost some steam

Flight changed to 4 hours prior without any notification!!

I'm posting this here because I really don't know what else to do. I've flown with frontier many times in my life and would actually advocate for them being a solid budget option to people who swear to never get anywhere near one of their flights. But today was just inexcusable. I got a notification that one of my return flights was changed to 2 hours later for a flight that is in two months time. I guess nbd but then when I put the confirmation code into the app I noticed that my departure time was completely different too. I booked for a 4:30 pm flight and they changed it to 12:30pm instead and failed to communicate that to me at all I only noticed because I checked the app after the return flight had been changed. I got them to put me on another flight at a very inconvenient time that gets me to my destination at 1am now but I just can't understand how that can be allowed?? How they can sell a flight for 4:30 pm and change it to 12:30 pm without even notifying the customer about it? So frustrating

Devils thumb and sentinel pass

Is it completely outrageous for two fit 30 year olds to start devils thumb at 7:30am and then hike to sentinel pass or at least minnestima lakes on the same day. Reviews on all trails has both hikes at 4-5 hours each and the last ride back is at 7:30pm so timing works with a couple of hours of wiggle room. Just wondering if I'm in way over my head thinking I'd physically be capable of doing it which is why I'm considering at least trying to minestima lakes as I heard there is still a well earned pay off to make it at least there. I really want to do both hikes as I've read so many great things

Sentinel pass or devils thumb

Hello folks was wondering what you would suggest for our full day hike between devils thumb to po6 or sentinel pass to paradise valley giant steps. Crowds are not a huge deal to me more concerned about which is more can't miss for our shuttle day. We were leaning towards sentinel pass only because we would be seeing lake Louise from lake shore and thought the view from devils thumb could be redundant compared to a completely different day in sentinel pass and the valley. We are going in August. Tia

Hike selection amidst bear fear

Hey guys I'm very excited for my trip to banff and jasper in August however I must admit I'm pretty terrified of bear encounters even with bear spray and awareness. My girlfriend and I have highlighted a few hikes that we would like to do including tent ridge and paradise valley however I understand there's a higher probability of bear encounters In kananaskis and paradise valley compared to some other busier hiking areas. Our goal was tent ridge, cirque peak, sentinel pass to giant steps/ paradise valley, and Parker ridge. I'm wondering if I should cut tent ridge and the paradise valley extension to avoid bear encounters but also worried I'm overthinking it. I would really regret missing such great hikes for an irrational fear of a possible bear encounter. I was considering substituting in devils thumb. Would love to hear anyone's thoughts on how devils thumb ranks amongst these other hikes as I feel I would have more peace of mind on a busier trail. TIA

Jasper recommendations

Would love to hear of any jasper suggestions for end of August. We will have a little bit less than a day in jasper and staying the night at sunwapta falls. The plan so far includes athabasca falls, sunwapta, and spirit island cruise. Would have loved mt Edith cavell however it will not be open yet. Are there any other worthwhile sights or activities?

Is Tent ridge a can't miss hike?

My brother and I are planning a hike heavy trip. In the 5 days we are there in August we are planning to hike Cirque peak, sentinel pass to paradise valley, and Parker ridge. We are thinking about adding one more hike and have seen a lot of recommendations for tent ridge. Is tent ridge worth it or are there any other hikes with a similar time commitment that we shouldn't be missing? We have decided to cut out the beehives for tent ridge but want to make sure that's the right decision and the best hike to substitute for

Little beehive or Parker ridge for shortish hike

Hi folks my friend and I were looking for some help deciding between these two hikes as a short hike option over the summer. We have an early morning 6:30 am lake Louis shuttle and we're planning on driving the icefields parkway after so wanted to squeeze in a quick hike if possible. From my understanding little beehive can be done in around 3 hours as an out and back and Parker ridge in 2 hours. I know they are both very different I guess I'm just wondering if you had to choose between the two which would you say is more of a must do hike in terms of experience and view. Would we be missing out by not doing any of the hikes around lake Louis
