Shovel Knight Dig stealing my gems???

So I had about 8000, couldn't buy anything for some reason, then played some games and now I'm down to about 5000 and when I finish a run it's not banking any of my gems. I'm literally just locked out of buying anything and everytime I play my gem count goes down instead of up.

I'm on Steam btw. I verified integrity of game files and reinstalled. Idk what else to do.
