Wasting my life away
I’m 21, and I genuinely feel like I’m wasting my life.
Every single day is exactly the same. I wake up, grab my phone, and then somehow it’s nighttime. Not because I love being on my phone, but because I literally have nothing else to do.
My job has barely been giving me any hours, so I’m home almost all the time. I don’t have a car, so I can’t just go out whenever I want. If I want to go anywhere, I have to depend on someone else to take me, and that usually means waiting until it fits their schedule.
I don’t have any friends to hang out with. My partner is long-distance, so we can’t just go do things together. I feel like I’m just stuck in my room every day.
People always say, “Get off your phone,” or “Find a hobby,” but I feel like they don’t understand. If you have no friends, no transportation, barely any work, and you’re home all day… what are you actually supposed to do? I can only clean my room so many times.
The days have gotten so repetitive that I honestly couldn’t tell you what I did last week because every day blends together.
I feel like I’m watching my 20s go by while everyone else is out living their lives, making memories, and meeting people.
Does anyone else feel like this? If you were in a similar situation, how did you get out of it? I mostly just want to know I’m not the only person living like this.
