A tip if you don’t like people close to you in line.

Hello,

I wanted to share this bc I see people post every now and again about people invading their personal space in line. I get it so I always leave my car behind me like you see in the image.

By the time the person in front of me is done checking out, I simply move my cart to the front so the bagger ot myself can start sacking my groceries. Using the cart as a spacer people get the message to give me my space by the time I’m in front of the cashier.

Hope this helps someone. Peace and love.

Trying to transfer

I’m going to delete this post soon so people at my store don’t see it but, i’m trying to transfer stores. My current store is 30 min away and the store i applied to is 5 minutes away. I wanted to transfer bc i do not like my manager and because it’s really far. Someone told my manager i’m transferring and she just so happened to put a note on my file because i missed a PAW walk last week when our one device was broken. She’s never put a note on anyone’s file and other people missed their PAW walks that day! I think she did this do block my transfer but i’m not sure if the other store can even see the note. I applied a week ago and haven’t heard back should i be worried?

Travel Reset Merchandiser Interview

Hey gang! So recently I lost my job as a IT guy and had to make a career change. Somehow I found a merchandiser position at HEB on the career site. I’ve applied, already talked with a recruiter and have a zoom interview later today.

Is there anymore interviewing I should prepare for? Is the job great? Any tips for the interview? Any help would be appreciated!!

Worried About Possible Termination

Long story short I simply could not find my curbie phone, I believe it slipped out of my pocket at the restroom but it wasn’t there when I returned. My lead said it might be a 40 rating, but I got one unfortunately, I believe anyway, due to just being a poor worker last September. It’s so unfortunate too, I just didn’t understand what the steps really meant and had called off. I had 7 steps for around 2 days, but I’m sure this was enough to get me a 40. With it not being a year, if this is a 40 rating, it would fire me and this genuinely is my only source of income. I haven’t been above 4 steps in the last 6 months and have been really trying to focus on this job, I quit my other one. I don’t know, I’m just stressed out.

I saw a post where the comments said this would be a note on record rather than anything else, which I hope is the case as I’ve never damaged company property and have been a pretty solid curbie over the last year all things considered. My left behinds are minimal and I often stay below 2 min retrieval time. Idk, if anyone has knowledge about what the steps are if a costumer doesn’t return or if maybe the janitors don’t have it, I’d be grateful for some clarity.

I'm so happy.

I grew up in Austin eating primarily Hill Country Fare (poor family whooooo) and I have been missing HEB so damn bad ever since life took me up to DFW. The Mid-Cities location is 5 minutes from me and I attended the grand opening today. It felt like home. It's big, it's beautiful, it's well-stocked, and despite the store being filled with an absolutely BONKERS amount of people, my experience wasn't affected at all. I was honestly kind of shocked that there wasn't someone in an HEBuddy mascot costume, but the 180-pound fish (wtf was that?) being paraded around was fun.

One thing: I am BEGGING whoever is in charge to stock the defictionalized Alamo Beer from King of the Hill. I asked an employee in the beer/wine section about it today and after looking it up on his phone, confirmed they didn't have it. He wasn't even sure what I was talking about at first.

HEB has been the only place to reliably get it and the next season of King of the Hill airs in exactly one month. It might not have the biggest consumer base, but I guarantee it will sell. Probably sell out. Multiple times. If you build it, they will come etc. Given that Arlen was based around an amalgam of several cities here in DFW, y'all are practically leaving money on the table not supplying it.

All that said, I'm so looking forward to never having to set foot in the Wal-Mart across the street for groceries and medication ever again lmao get rekt bozo

How To Get Hired

I am a HEB customer now, but I was thinking about applying when I read about Jerry's vacated position.

I mean, who do I need to talk to in order to land this job?.

17.7% discount on everything HEB sells (including gas).

If you go to an HEB store with a True Texas BBQ ,the restaurant is running a special on True Texas BBQ gift cards. Buy $25 card get $5 card free, Buy $50 card get $10 card free and so on. These have to be purchased at the restaurant and single transactions only.

Here is the good part. These are HEB gift cards, they are usable for groceries or even gas. They are branded True Texas BBQ but they are just ordinary gift cards good throughout the store.

Stock up now before the sale ends or they figure out we know. 😄

Cost of living adjustment.

Is HEB planning to do a cost-of-living adjustment this year? The company continues to break sales records and expand its warehouse operations, but it’s just as important to keep investing in and supporting the partners who contribute to that success every day.”

Has anyone else gotten sick from the HEB Greek raspberry yogurt?

My roommate is just getting over a full week of horrible nausea and diarrhea and had been bed ridden with

[ight sweats and horrible pain in his back. We weren't sure what was going on with him and we're having trouble diagnosing what had happened and what could have caused fir. Today I was trying to get him to eat something and I opened one of the yogurts I had bought for him a couple weeks ago and he told me that he threw up after eating one. I don't know w$s5[76⁶ t took him this long to say something but I tasted it and immediately I felt like there was some

thing off about it. Anyway I was just checking to see if of it was any good and if anyone else had experienced these symptoms.

Is this legal???

Ive been with the company for a year now and the store I work at has been having me consistently work 40hrs a week as a part timer. I genuinely don’t mind it sometimes because it has its perks but I often feel like since they’re short staffed they take advantage of me and make me work OT. Is this legal to the company?

I am extremely sad. The Vindaloo Trail Mix has been removed.

In it's place is some chocolate garbage that doesn't belong in trail mixes. That or 'Pickle' something. Uggggg !

How much notice should I give?

I started 3 months ago in CFT but 98% of my hours have been in service (checking, bagging, carts). I just graduated college and yesterday received a job offer for a more comfortable desk job in another state. I'd love to be respectful and give my managers a 2 week notice, but I don't want to be immediately let go because the money of those two weeks is still meaningful to me. It's made even more complicated because I have a family member who works at the same store in a different department, and I don't want them to be retaliated against. Any way to judge what my managers will do before I tell them? I don't know any former employees.
