I got tired of guessing if Uber Eats orders were actually worth it, so I built an app

Hey everyone!
I’m an Uber Eats delivery driver in Toronto, and I got tired of constantly calculating whether an order was worth accepting.
So I built GigBalance, an app that helps delivery drivers track earnings, expenses, mileage, and see how much they’re actually making per hour.
I’ve also been working on features to help drivers analyze offers and make better decisions.
I’m still improving it and would genuinely love to hear what other drivers think, especially what features would make your life easier.
It’s available on both iOS and Android.

Thanks, delivery friends! Stay safe out there ❤️

I got tired of guessing whether an Uber offer was actually worth taking

I drive myself and realized I was paying way too much attention to the payout on the screen instead of what I was actually making after time, distance, waiting and expenses.
So I started tracking my shifts more closely and eventually built GigBalance around it.
One thing I’m still trying to figure out: what number matters most to other drivers when deciding whether a trip is worth it?
$/mile? $/hour? estimated expenses? something else?

I delivered 7,442 km by e-bike in Toronto last year. Imagine if all those deliveries were made by car. Hands off our bike lanes.

Last year, I traveled 7,442 km delivering food across Toronto on my e-bike. 🚲
If I had driven a typical gas car for those same deliveries, roughly 1.4 tonnes of CO₂ would have come from the tailpipe.
Now imagine the hundreds of delivery riders doing the same thing every day across Toronto.
Bike lanes aren’t wasted space. They let us work safely while keeping cars off the road and emissions out of the air.
Removing bike lanes won’t remove cyclists. It will put us in traffic.
Hands off our bike lanes. 💚🚲
