Another Detroit!

Been doing a couple of these a week now and i'm really happy how they're turning out. I've ordered a pizza steel should be here soon and I'm ready to try something thinner!

Water purification/filtration

What are people using to collect drinking water?

Water is the one thing holding me back from staying out longer. I have 120L of storage, looking for the best way to refill from rivers/Lakes or taps I'm unsure of the water source.

I previously made a kit from household rainwater filter and UV, but it was bulky. Tried a small Lifesaver filter gravity fed but it's really slow, needs a whole day set aside to refill tanks.

What are you using?

Cooking/Baking done in the van this month.

All done on solar power. Lots of pizza has been made this month, moving onto fresh pasta now. Lots of it shared with random people I've met in random locations. Over 2 years in the van now, no idea why i didn't do it earlier. I enjoy a grotty industrial estate as much as I enjoy beauty spots.

Detroit style, cooked in the Van.

Few attempts in now. Used advice for the base given here last time. Very happy with the results.

Sauce is my own creation, also had a squeeze of honey and is thinned with water.

2 years off grid

38/M/UK.

I've completely changed the set up 3 times now, and fairly happy with how it is now. It's not finished, and never will be.

Heating, aircon, instant boiling water tap, steam oven, every appliance is electric or diesel. I've tried it all, LPG/Gas is a PITA.

1050w permanent solar, and have another 800w i can put out when needed.

*There is a second 50 litre fridge under the oven, i don't have to go outside to get milk.

First Detroit style cooked in my van kitchen.

Base came out a lot thicker than I expected, did I just use too much dough? 20.5cm pan, 385g flour, 270g water.
