When did we know that a proto-Indo-Iranian people once lived in Southern Russia and Central Asia, and how did they know that?

There isn’t any literature from S. Russia in those days, and moreover, there was no genetic sequencing technology until 2003. But I saw that this knowledge was well-established in the early ‘80s, and they also knew that these aryans loved gambling and maybe kidnapping women for marriage.

How was this know so early?

Anna’s Taqueria Steak Burrito Vs Felipé’s Taqueria’s Steak Burrito

The steak burritos in Anna’s is much better (and bigger) than the steak burritos at Felipé’s. The Anna’s that I usually go to is at Davis Square or Porter Square. They’re both identical.

Anyways, the steak burrito at Felipé’s is smaller and much less flavorful. There’s more connective tissue in the meat also.

Who do you think makes the best steak burritos?

Regents is a drug company that’s in PHASE III to regenerate your knee cartilage. What’s your opinion of REGENTIS’ phase III clinical trial?

This made my day. They’re an Israeli company it seems. They’ve already recruited half of the people for their Phase III trial.

I wonder if this can regrow your entire hyaline cartilage and what are the catches.

How is paying laborers and minimum wagers and gig economy workers more a good thing since they will work fewer hours?

Society requires many people to work more than 40 hours in order for us to be in this equilibrium. However if we paid them more then bad things would happen in the form of them working less. Hence there will be a labor backlog, and society will be in some kind of disequilibrium.

I am all for workers rights and economic justice. I know that there’s something missing in my analysis here.

So how would paying these workers more be a good thing if they work less?

Without using taxes to subsidize workers, how does taxing the wealthy equate to better pay for workers?

Right now, employers are somehow paying their workers less and less over the last several years when measuring inflation adjusted. We also see that corporations are more profitable than they were also.

Suppose that we taxed very wealthy people more. Simultaneously we don’t subsidize the workers with this extra tax revenue stream. It seems impossible to me that workers would get money from more tax revenues.

  • how do we pay workers more AND tax the super wealthy more without using tax revenues to subsidize the workers?

Starting in 1970, what could have the Soviets done to have a stronger, more unified, and enduring nation that lasts beyond 1991?

Here are ideas that I have that may have allowed the Soviet Union to still be around today:

  • have a less bureaucratic system for industry with a different incentive system
  • don’t invade Afghanistan and spend less on defense
  • have more trading partners
  • allow more highly skilled immigrants

Could Soviets migrate out of the country to the Western Europe or the USA? Also did they have immigration from outside?

Did people migrate to the USSR in appreciable numbers? Were people migrating out of the USSR? I’m surprised that much of Israel are people from the USSR, but I think that this was an exception, and even the USA.

What are some latest advances to regrow hyaline cartilage? What about ligaments?

I’m always hearing about many therapies undergoing clinical trials, and then we stop hearing about it. Or they’ve been in trials for too long. I also hear mixed things about BMAC, PRP, and some implantable scaffold for cartilage.

What’s the latest here? Will we have cartilage within 10 years or new ligaments?

The title says it all but as an add-on to my initial question, I was wondering if all flours with a 12.2% gluten content can be made for roti?

When there’s a war, there are always casualties on both sides. When there are people getting arrested, there are always casualties there also because the criminal may sometimes retaliate.

However, when Stalin started purging the military, none of his victims did anything about it. Nobody formed coalitions or reached out to their underlings to form a battalion or even a defense pact with other members of the military.

Ceaceascu of Romania killed far fewer people but they had their revenge on him. Hitler survived two assassination attempts, and even other despots faced the wrath of their military. It boggles my mind that this wasn’t even considered a civil war since other civil wars killed about the same amount of people like the US Civil War.

After 3 months of stalins purges, it seems like the generals and other members of the army didn’t warn one another and build coalitions or defense pacts or have even a partisan brigade.

How was Stalin able to slowly purge in two years 680,000 members of the military?
