Ended up with a C7 Corvette convertible!
Picked it up this week. Black C7 convertible, and yes that's the top halfway through folding in the picture. I keep doing it in the garage just to watch.
I've been lurking here for months going back and forth between a Mustang GT and a used Supra. I posted here last week. Both made sense on paper. The Mustang was cheaper to own, the Supra would hold its value better, and every time I ran the numbers I ended up back on Corvette listings at 1am anyway.
The problem was always price. It sat about ten grand past what I'd told myself I was allowed to spend. A stake parlay hitting for $12k last month took care of that part, so I ran out of excuses pretty fast.
Drove all of them in the same weekend, which I'd recommend to anyone stuck between cars because it settles things quicker than another month of reading threads. The Mustang felt huge. The Supra was great and I'd probably have been happy in it. Then I got in the Corvette, sat about four inches off the ground, and it was over before I left the lot.
Things nobody warned me about. The trunk is actually usable, even with the top down, I got a full grocery run in there. Rear visibility is as bad as everyone says and I'm leaning on the backup camera way more than I'd like to admit.
Also my building gave me the spot next to a concrete pillar, so the passenger door opens about a foot. Love that for me.
Thanks to everyone here who keeps telling people to just buy the car they actually want.
Anyone here drive one of these through winter, or am I shopping for a beater by December
