Warm soup during rainy days hits different!

Nanyang's Laksa Prawn is basically a warm hug in a bowl :)

Mt. Bandilaan

The air is cooler, the path grows quiet, and this solitary tree welcomes everyone who makes the climb-whether for spiritual reflection or simply to enjoy the view :)

*Correction: These photos were taken at the Holy Cross Pilgrim Site and not Mt. Bandilaan.

The Relentless Persistence of "BPI" Scammers!

I don't even have a BPI account, so it's obvious these are phishing/scam messages being sent out in bulk. I've blocked the scammer's number several times already, but somehow I still keep receiving text messages that appear to come from "BPI" instead of a regular phone number, which makes them look more legitimate.

At one point, I even replied, hoping they'd stop messaging me—but to no avail.

The messages usually try to create a sense of urgency and include links or ask you to verify your account. Please don't click any links or share your personal or banking information. If you actually have a BPI account and receive a suspicious text, verify it through BPI's official channels instead of using any links in the message.

These spoofed messages are becoming increasingly convincing, and I can see how they could deceive someone who's not expecting them.

Recommended Tour Guide for Female Solo Travellers who plan to visit Siquijor

The Ultimate Siquijor Experience: I Highly Recommend Ms. Kat!

As a solo female traveler, I value safety, flexibility, budget, and great photos when exploring a new place, and Ms. Kat delivered on all counts. I found her contact details through a Reddit recommendation and reached out to her on Facebook, where she was incredibly accommodating and patient with all my initial inquiries. On the day of our tour back in May 2026, she arrived exactly on time. Even though I was running a bit late, she was exceptionally patient and gracious about waiting for me, immediately putting me at ease.

Ms. Kat didn’t stick to a set itinerary. She planned the whole day around my schedule and took me to some of the island’s most beautiful and lesser-known spots. We rode around on her motorcycle, which made the trip feel real and fun. She also took great photos for me and knew the best places for pictures. Her rates are very affordable, so it’s a great deal for solo travelers.

What truly sets Ms. Kat apart, though, is her genuine kindness and willingness to go the extra mile. When we stopped for lunch at a restaurant that didn't accept GCash, and I realized I didn't have enough physical cash on hand, she didn't hesitate to cover the bill out of pocket for me on the spot, allowing me to just send her a bank transfer afterward. To top it all off, before we parted ways, she even handed me a sweet little token—a Siquijor sticker—to remember the trip.

The entire day was completely relaxed, safe, and chill—less like a formal tour and more like exploring the island with a trusted friend. I had the absolute best time, and I highly recommend Ms. Kat to all tourists, especially fellow solo female travelers looking for an unforgettable Siquijor adventure!
