Hand Painted and Signed Spode Copeland’s China Plate

I don’t know the age of this piece. I bought it many years ago. I thought it was very pretty and I like the elaborate border.
The plate is signed by the artist in the central portion. It’s a little hard to read; I think it might say P. Hall.

If You Love indIvidual Breakfast Sets as much as I do…

…here’s a very pretty one from Gray’s Pottery.
I just love individual breakfast sets. The tiny toast racks are always so cute! I have some breakfast sets for one in my chintz collection, but here is a non-chintz set that I enjoy. There is something so self-indulgent about the concept.

Lovely Chintz Border Plate

So many Redditors left kind comments when I posted photos of my chintz collection some time ago that I thought some of you might enjoy pictures of this plate. I don’t think it is technically chintzware because the floral design isn’t completely covering the piece, but it “feels” like chintzware to me.
The underside has the logo for Rosenthal china with the words “Ivory” and “Bavaria.”.

Edited to add: Thnk you, kind Redditor, for the award! 🩷

Warning on New Teapot

This is a new, modern teapot that a friend gave me as a gift. I was dismayed to see the sticker on the bottom! I searched online but most of the information concerned old and antique pottery. Is this unsafe to use? Thank you!

Mikasa Flatware - Deceptive Descriptor on Box

I bought a set of Mikasa stainless steel flatware after verifying that the box specified that it was dishwasher safe. I specifically checked for this because many reviews of various brands of flatware say the knives rust after putting them through the dishwasher.

When I unpacked the set at home, I found additional information hidden under a flap that doesn’t get opened until you have bought it and are unpacking it. It’s “Dishwasher safe,” except for this list of additional “recommendations” that mean it isn’t dishwasher safe at all. I’m so sick of these underhanded companies and their false advertising.

Is a Kik Step rolling step stool safe for hardwood floors? I’m thinking of the wheels specifically.

We have hickory hardwood floors. I need a step stool and like the Kik Step. I know there is a rubber bumper so that the body of the stool won’t damage the floors when you stand on it. But will the rolling wheels damage the floors? I can’t find any comments addressing this.

Thank you for any info you can give!

The Enduring Freshness of Blue and White China

Blue and white china never gets old! Here is a beautiful floral cup and saucer from Highclere Castle, famously the setting of Downton Abbey. It’s a lovely place to visit!
