Pppd caused by BVD (binocular vision dysfunction)?

Hi all,

I am looking for some answers on why I have been SO dizzy the last 5 months. It started slowly, a little dizzy here and there and quickly ramped up to dizziness every day. I sometimes get the odd day or few hours of relief but otherwise, I am always dizzy. Around this time I had quite a spike in pretty significant anxiety as well (not sure which came first, the dizziness or anxiety, or anxiety from being dizzy).

I went to a neuro optomitrist who diagnosed me with BVD and convergence insufficiency and said that this could be the cause of my dizziness. I tried prism glasses which made my dizziness much worse and am starting vision therapy next week to correct my convergence insufficiency and I am so hopeful that this will help my dizziness.

My question is, has anyone been diagnosed with BVD and PPPD? Perhaps BVD caused initial dizziness which is amplified by PPPD? Or are these not related? Given that prism glasses did not help my dizziness I am starting to wonder if something else may be going on.

Convergence insufficiency and dizziness- success with VT but not prisms?

I am wondering if anyone has had success with vision therapy even when prisms didn’t work for them?

I’ve been dealing with dizziness among other symptoms such as brain fog, head aches, etc but mainly and worst of all - persistent dizziness for the past four months.

I’ve been to a neuro optometrist who has diagnosed me with BVD, convergence insufficiency, and depth perception issues. He prescribed prism glasses which made me feel AWFUL, dizziness increased by 100% and went through literal hell for two weeks before I went back to him. He adjusted the lenses and I am now trying a new adjusted pair which I have worn for a week but I still am not seeing any relief from dizziness.

I start vision therapy next week. The idea was for me to get relief from the glasses and wear them for vision therapy but the glasses just aren’t helping.

Do prism glasses just not work for some people? Has anyone found relief from symptoms with vision therapy even when prisms did not work for them?

Looking for some hope.
