One """small"" thing I don't see anyone pointing out about Lanterns,on the "MAN HUNTERS"

Why the fuck are they even called Man Hunters in the show?!

No seriously you think about it for a minute and it doesn't make any sense

The Man Hunters in the comics are predators, they were engineered to catch and eliminate threats in the Universe by the Guardians.

Then,at least for the current continuity,Krona reprogrammed them to become extreme.

And they commuted a genocide in the sector 666.

And that's the role they serve,

they are robots that yes,can shape shift.

And they hunt people.Thats their main thing.

In the show that's not what they do

They shape shift?

Yes.

But because they are social parasites. They climbed the social ladder and then orchestrated what was supposed to pass for justice.

I assume Antaan was the king—the leader—of that planet, given that he says he was at the top even before that.

And another thing that just crossed my mind: do they ever explain how they knew she was on earth? No, right?

Just like half the things in the series. Anyway...

They went rogue. And they used their role to orchestrate genocides against populations they deemed dangerous. Then, somehow, they were deactivated. Except for "Zoe"—for some unexplained reason.

She carries alien technology around with her—technology I assume she builds on the fly, because I have no idea how she’d lug it all around otherwise. I admit the concept is really interesting, even if the series doesn't actually convey it well—it just describes it.

But the thing is, they simply aren't Manhunters. They don't hunt anyone. They don't do anything the Manhunters do in the comics, nor do they live up to the name "Manhunters." Like I said, that's another issue with this series: they used the name either because Gunn asked for it, or because they were too lazy to come up with a different one.

In Lanterns (2026), Sinestro, an alien in space, was wearing jeans after being broken out of the most secure prison in the universe. This is because even intergalactic supervillains can't escape the American Eagle dress code.

The Exorcist: Martyrs By Mike Flanagan. What do you guys think of it?

Personally I'm at least intrigued.

I really like Scarlet Johanson and Chiwetel Ejiofor.

I'm glad they are both free with marvel and are experimenting, even if not always everything work.

Chiwetel did an amazing performance in Backrooms this year.

I'm pretty sure it's will be better than Believer

Which I known it's an High bar, since that is absolute shit.

But it's still Mike Flanagan.

At least he can make a scary movie.David Gordon Green doesn't have that capacity. He can be gross but never scary.

Even the first Halloween movies of his ""trilogy""even if they were good they weren't much scary.

He is a good horror director.Even He doesn't use only junpscares and he is capable of writing good characters, good dialogue.

His last series, weren't his best work.Breakfast Club and The Fall of House of the Ushers.

I have yet to see Carrie even if any news that came out made me less intrigued than the one before.

But "Life of Chuck" is a fucking good movie.

So what do you think?

Have you guys ever seen Jeremy Saulnier filmography? and if yes, what you think of it?

Personally it's an indie director I love and I hope makes more movies.

Starting with Blue ruin who is really a nice small movie, less than 500.000 dollars of budget,

That really keeps you in your toes the entire time.

Above beong a clever and realistic study on vengeance and how it could realistically work out for you.

And it poses question like " it's useful reopen a cycle of violence after alot of time"

The actor,Macon Blair,does a superb performance.

And when the violence erupts is more than brutal.

Only by this I would like him to direct a movie about "Child of God" the book by Cormac McCarthy.

Than the Green room: which is kinda famous too.

It also had a young Tallum Carter before he became famous

A really nice Slasher, that presents a real reality of rural areas.

The violence is also really striking too,is famous the door scene which i won't spoil.

It reminded me in some way of Straw Dogs, like a Snare, that tightens and tightens until the climax.

Patrick Stewart dies a really good performance in this.

Rebel Ridge is probably his more famous movie, above beong the movie that launched Aaron Piere.

It's also his more high budget movie, with between 30-40 million.

But you see all the budget in use.

I genuely love the movie, and his depiction of police abuse.

Don Johnson does a really good performance too as the antagonist, the chief Sandy Burnne. He has presence without becoming over the top.

The movie has really good set pieces and action scene.

And even if with a more standard, action movie thriller plot still maintains his feeling of Realism.

And one thing I particular liked is how, like in old movies like this type, tries to maintain a classic hero that isn't too morally compromised, but maintains a moral standard.

Saulnier is a really good actor director.Majority of the actors do really a good job under him, even the ones I don't find good in other movies.

The dialogue is certainly realistic but never boring, and when the moments of silences arrives, uuuh, they really strike.

It's also a dirextor that working on indie project knows how to how to choreograph a scene.

The photography in this movie is always striking, especially in Blue Ruin and Rebel ridge.

He really knows how to depict the American west.

Hoping he does something else after Rebel Ridge
