We need to be more Vocal About Wages/Salaries. Make it Awkward.

Most of us saw around a yearly 3% wage increase with our latest contracts. We all know that due to inflation in the past 10 years this has been a wage decrease.

CPI came out with numbers and again inflation rose to 3% this month.

Union Dues, CPP, EI and Health Premiums have increased yearly as well. Taking larger chunks off our paystubs.

Speak openly about your pay, work-load, and general hardships especially around leadership. Reference wages of Middle Management.

Compare, contrast......complain.

Costco Cashiers can make $33.00 and up per hour. Let that sink in.

Make it Awkward.

Tax deductions need expansions for the middle class.

So if I own a business I can deduct all my office supplies (laptops, stationary, desks, etc) from my earned income.

Yet if I buy mandatory school supplies (Chromebooks now a must) for my children that legally have to attend school…..Who cares. Eat it.

Corporate retreat to Vegas for a conference? Write it off.

Schools at capacity of 30+ a classroom so you opt for tutoring? Eat that cost too.

Deducting interest off your jacked up F-350 for your Landscaping business? Expense it.

Busing fees, day camps, etc. Eat it.

Management to Front Line Ratios

I've been trying to find Organizational Data for the Hierarchy across Pillars/AHS.

15 years in now and the laundry list of OPS, Program, Regional, Directors, etc keeps expanding while FTEs for the Front lines are completely static.

The "leaving" penalty is a joke

4 Must wins in QM with leavers only. 5-10 min just to get a match minimum. Legit left at draft for an emergency. Has to be a better way.
