From Spotify to own music library
It makes you stop and think, and realize that Spotify is sort of losing its point, of course for me, not for everybody. We’re paying to rent music, sure, the recommendation algorithm is good, but then again...
I have four main playlists there: Dance, Trance, Oldies, and Rock + some full albums.. About 550 songs in total. I only really cycle through half of them.
Partly thanks to discussions on Reddit, I decided to switch to make make my own legit library in quality at least 320kpbs or FLAC. A long time ago, I used to have everything under the sun loaded onto my player, like almost everybody, but now I’m going down the path of actually buying the music. II´ve already started with new very good bluetooth speaker still for great price, "learning" in Poweramp player and buying some music from BandCamp and Beatport.
Next reason is.. I add about 15-20 songs to the playlist, since I still enjoy the older stuff. This should be maybe 30-40 eur for the new music / year. But forever and in better quality. And can listen everywhere. Even with some more supporting for the creators.
It’s actually fun digging through it all, and even though it’ll take some time, it’s probably the right decision, isn't it ? I am also almost sure, that many people chose similar path.. :P
