Huawei Matebook X Pro Issues

Last year, I purchased a Huawei Matebook X Pro (MACHD-WFH9) and I have loved my laptop. Recently, it won’t turn on whatsoever, or even show a light that it’s charging. I am not a heavy computer user, but it was at least used monthly. Randomly it decided to turn on and work fine for a bit, but that’s unfortunately now not the case. I love this laptop and don’t want it to be a complete loss, but have seen a lot of issues with the motherboard. Of course I’m also a fan of a brand with no connections to the United States.

Sometimes when the power light is on but I can’t get it to turn on, I’ll try and do the power reset or whatever else I can, but still have no luck besides it deciding it wants to work.

Open to any advice, or computer repair people who specialize in Huawei? Or is it really just time for me to buy another computer which I desperately don’t want to do?

Setup Process for Huawei watches is the Most Annoying thing Ever...

Not only it asks you like 500 different things when you download/setup the app and pair it to the watch, but once you start using their watches you have to agree to terms in literary every fcking app :(

Why Can't it be a single Agree and you are done, but no... The whole watch even won't track anything until you literary go through every app and agree to the terms in each and every of them.

It's soooo annoying and not a Nice Experience at all...

I love Huawei watches but this $hit is just terrible and cheapens the whole Experience So much!

No one reads or cares about any of that garbage anyway - Huawei Get this $hit out of your watches ASAP!

Question on huawei papermatte for notetaking

I'm thinking of buying Huawei matepad papermatte 11.5s mainly for taking notes and have two questions:

Are infinte canvas apps well supported and the payed version works well? (Concepts, Nebo, or others...)

Does the device, to anyone that has experience with papermatte, reduce eyestrain in comparison to a non papermatte device?

Huawei Watch Fit 5 Pro is a complete disappointment

TL;DR: The Huawei Watch Fit 5 Pro doesn’t offer anything to justify its price. Its health tracking lags behind even much older models. Despite being more expensive than Samsung or Fitbit trackers, it produces inaccurate readings and trends.

As someone who’s obsessed with fitness trackers and wearables and constantly keeps an eye on the market, I used to use the Huawei Watch Fit 2. The heart rate sensor was excellent and the stress tracking worked incredibly accurately. So far, I’ve used the Fitbit Charge 6, the Samsung Galaxy Watch 8 and the Huawei Watch Fit 2. I sold the Galaxy Watch 8 because of its shortcomings with heart rate monitoring and wanted to buy a Huawei, as my experience with the Fit 2 had been brilliant and I had complete faith in the brand, but...

After this product, I started to hate Huawei. WHERE THE HELL DID THE CALIBRATION FOR STRESS TRACKING GO? The watch never once detected high stress levels. After binge eating, during a nervous breakdown, whilst ill – in truly stressful, terrifying situations where I was drenched in sweat – the stress level was consistently between ‘normal’ and ‘mild’ in every single instance. Are you kidding , Huawei? Even though I’m not a fan of the Galaxy Watch 8’s heart rate monitoring, but it would still pick up on even the slightest moment of stress and send an alert. They removed stress monitoring because of emotional welness feature but is that accurate? Totally wrong and rubbish!

TRUSLEEP HAS BEEN UPDATES FOR YEARS , BUT THE RESULTS ARE STILL TERRIBLE. Trusleep 5.0, which is claimed to provide better sleep analysis, has only been added to the Watch Fit 5 series. They aren’t rolling out the software update to older Fit models or GT models. What do you think of the accuracy of Trusleep 5.0, which seems so highly touted? IT’S AN ABSOLUTE DISASTER. It’s even worse than the cheapest fitness trackers from Samsung, Amazfit and Fitbit. Google improves the accuracy of its sleep tracking almost every month through software updates alone, rolling these out to older-generation Fitbit and Google trackers. Even Fitbit’s $100 products track your sleep accurately with a %75–80  correlation compared to medical devices. Huawei’s sleep stage graphs are completely at odds with Fitbit’s. The sleep tracking is rubbish. The breathing awareness isn’t accurate either. When I was ill, both my nostrils were completely blocked all night, and I was experiencing micro-awakenings throughout the night due to difficulty breathing. When I checked the sleep breathing awareness the next morning, it said everything was normal. Yet Fitbit had immediately shown a sudden drop in SpO2.

As for the heart rate, it’s not great. Instead of detecting sudden spikes, it simply lags behind and ignores them. Whilst lying in bed, I suddenly sat up to try and raise my heart rate. Whilst my heart rate shot up from 60 bpm to 120 bpm straight away, the Huawei showed 70–80 bpm and then 110 bpm for about 20 seconds. It isn’t even as good as the Fitbit Charge 6 at capturing sharp peaks. It has better heart rate tracking than the Samsung GW8. But it’s weaker at detecting instantaneous peaks than a $100 Fitbit. A complete let-down.

Finally, I’d like to mention HRV. HRV isn’t measured continuously. It’s measured roughly every half an hour. The feature is completely unnecessary because it never shows daily or weekly trends. In other words, even if they were to collect the raw data, there’s no algorithm or logic to analyse it. It’s just a feature that’s been tacked on. My HRV was 25 ms 30 minutes ago, but now it’s showing 110. And I feel exactly the same. Then it drops to 35 ms. Is my body ready for strenuous activity or not? It’s just a confusing, unnecessary feature.

All in all, I wouldn’t recommend this product to anyone. I reckon those calling this watch an ‘Apple Watch killer’ are just promoting it for money. The only thing it has over the Apple Watch is battery life. That’s it. I never thought the sensors and readings would be worse than those of the Fit 2 and GT 3 series from years ago, but they are.

Hi, I have a problem and hope someone can help me with this :(

I have Huawei matepad 11.5s 2026 (pappermate) and m-pencil pro and the problem is that my stylus is not fully functional exactly on my tablet (when I connect my stylus to other tablet of the same model as mine it works perfectly and other way around when I connect other m-pencil pro to my tablet it doesn't work properly too). Button on top of stylus doesn't work and pinch (only on home screen, it works in apps for some reason). I hope someone can help me

Hi everyone!

I'm Rhys, the solo developer for HarmoniKeyboard, HKeyboard (coming to EMUI soon), HCloud and more coming soon.

I wanted to make a post to just ask for feedback whenever needed.

I built HarmoniKeyboard for myself, got it published to the AppGallery (CN) due to people asking a me and here we are now, almost 4 months in and I have a keyboard, backup app and currently developing a couple of other apps.

I do ask anyone that wants to support this to visit my Ko-Fi account https://ko-fi.com/harmonikeyboard/goal?g=13 It helps massively!

So, this post, if you have feedback for HarmoniKeyboard or any other Apps, get in touch, I have responded to everyone that I know of so far and will continue to do so. I'm currently working on a huge optimization and language overhaul on V2.1.16 which is taking longer than expected, but it will be worth it.

Any reviews put on the AppGallery, just know that of I haven read the review, I will hit the "thumbs up" button as I cannot reply on there. But all reviews have been noted and low ratings due to bugs have been fixed.

once V2.1.16 Is uploaded, I will be finished HCalculator and Updating HCloud. Also HKeyboard will be almost ready for release too.

iPhone hates Huawei Health

I get this at least twice a week. iPhone 16e, Band 7, everything up to date. No option to keep it set to Always. So I have to go back into the settings each time to re-enable. Grrrr. Any helpful solutions? Thanks

Update on my Matebook Pro S purchase

I got it!!! The only downside is that the Papermatte Display isnt available yet, it releases on the 28.8, on which my friend isnt in China anymore, so I had to make some Compromises. Instead of the black papermatte version, i got the betterlooking grey non papermatte edition. Good thing is, it was cheaper and looks better and has the same specs as the papermatte version.

I also got the Huawei Mouse with nearlink for free.

HarmoniKeyboard V2.1.16

https://preview.redd.it/c4ebpd86r6kh1.png?width=442&format=png&auto=webp&s=2430914562c64346b5c1f9ecc9f0f2035fdce859

The keyboard runs a lot smoother now after a fair bit of work on optimisation, glide, autocorrect and predictions. The overall flow is much better. Still work left, but it's a different keyboard to a month ago.

Worth knowing: your dictionary is yours. Settings, Typing, Learned Words lets you delete saved words and stop them being learnt again. I highly recommend going through it. It genuinely changes the keyboard into yours rather than a generic one.

I'm also part way through translating the whole of Settings. Around 28 languages are done. These ones I can't do properly with translation tools and I'd rather ship English than ship nonsense:

Amharic, Azerbaijani, Bengali, Bulgarian, Burmese, Hebrew, Hindi, Icelandic, Indonesian, Khmer, Tamil, Thai, Urdu, Vietnamese.

If you're a native speaker of any of those and fancy helping, it's about 40 short phrases. I send you a list with the English and my attempt, you mark anything wrong, that's it. Fifteen minutes. Comment or DM.

Also: I've been testing other Huawei keyboards this week. Huawei has opened up a lot since I started building this. Things that were impossible then, like giving Settings its own proper menu system, work now. Testing the competition showed me a few things mine is still missing, and those are going in next.

So look out for the next big update in the next few days, it's a big one, it was not the plan, but I got carried away with just optimizing and now I have a full on large scale update.

As always, if you use the keyboard and want to support what I'm doing, please, feel free to contribute towards my work that helps push forward towards a better user experience for HarmonyOS users. With HKeyboard coming to EMUI in the next couple of weeks, anything will help get this done! https://ko-fi.com/harmonikeyboard

Can I get international apps on a Chinese tablet?

I’m currently living in China until next year and I’m looking at getting a tablet, I’m thinking the Huawei matepad mini I like the size and how light it is, I’m open to getting a different brand though (there’s a xiaomi one that’s not too bad in size)
I want to use it for reading, taking notes in class, as well as streaming and music
My main questions are can I get a vpn on it to stream and get emails (mostly so I can send ebooks to it if there’s another way to do this that’s fine) and when I return to Australia will I be able to use it like normal without a vpn?
Also wondering if I can access international social media and apps like WhatsApp but this isn’t necessary and if I can download steam/play steam games on it?
