New accessory upgrade for my watch
I really love smartwatches but hate taking them off to charge them. Especially during the night when I want to use them to track my sleep. This upgrade lets me recharge it while wearing it.

So I've been using the Pura X Max 12/512gb version in Blue, imported from Trinity, (Ordered 256gb version and received tbe 512gb version) for the past week and here are my observations.
Lets start off with the good points, I absolutely love this phone. The format of the short but wide front screen make it very useable for everything, then when you open the device it just makes everything even better.
The cameras are really good, they are great for macro shots as well. I have all my UK banks installed and all of the android apps that I use on my Oppo Find N6.
The battery life is really good too, as is the speed of charging, and found a very useable keyboard.
Now onto the issues, most of which I knew, but two of which I didn't.
Android auto I miss very much, even though my Hyundai Ioniq 5 car has it's satnav, I've always used Android Auto or Apple Car Play. Resorting to using the in-built system makes me slightly uneasy.
NFC payments, again I knew this wasn't possible, but I didn't realise how I always used my phone for payments.
Now onto the two issues I didn't expect.
Huawei Health app for my Huawei Watch D2. I've been using the Watch D2 since launch on either my iPhone or my Android phone and thought it would work on my Huawei phone, or course why wouldn't it. Well to get my banks to work I needed to set the phone up to being based in UK, which then means all my Huawei Harmony app won't work as the phone isn't in China. So i tried to install the apk, but the phone blocks the install as there is a HarmonyOS app for it, and I get stuck in that loop.
Second issue I wasn't expecting was regarding bluetooth connecting to the car and playing audio through a Easyabroad installed app, it just doesn't work. I can bluetooth connect the phone to my car, but when I try to play bluetooth audio using Vivi app nothing happens.
Hope this is useful to anyone in the UK thinking of getting the Pura X Max. If you have any questions, please ask away.
This is a frequent question, because there are always people with doubts, new people using HarmonyOS for the first time. So I came up with this explanation that's pretty easy to understand how it works.
I'm not at all tech savvy and I'm unfamiliar with a lot of the terms around software and operating systems; please explain like i'm a dumb baby, how would one go about getting and using a Huawei phone in the US? If it's possible.
Recruiting my fellow Chinese people (or anyone that plays games LOL) for this - just to confirm, I don't want any android game recs cos I have an android phone
I have the Pura X and I wanna play more HarmonyOS native games because they just run better but so far these few games are the only ones I've found that can use a Global Wechat login (and that I can play on the outer screen) that don't require me to have a Chinese ID :
I wanna play games like QQ racing but obvs they have the Chinese ID age restriction pop-up, if anyone knows any other games that work that would be great - Idc about the genre of game, just want a masterlist basically
Another reason I wanna play native games is that it also works on the external screen lol, wanna make as much use of it as I can
TY to anyone that can help!!
Since Huawei doesn't offer the service anymore, do you know a way to unlock it, so i can try something else (like PostmarketOS)?
Free or paid, i don't care.
Thanks!

Looking at picking up a new Huawei tablet and one of the things that caught my attention is that WPS Office comes preinstalled. If the preinstalled version is fully featured and completely free it could be a genuine reason to finally drop my Microsoft 365 subscription which I've been looking for an excuse to do for a while.
A few questions. Is the preinstalled WPS Office on Huawei tablets completely free or does it push you toward a paid plan for core functionality? Does the Huawei preinstalled version have the full PC-style interface that the MatePad is known for or does it depend on which specific model you buy? And for everyday use; documents, spreadsheets, presentations, and PDF work, is it capable enough to replace MS Office?
What's the icon and numbers lower left and can I turn them off?
Google‑based apps that work:
A new update is now available for the Huawei Mate 50 Pro (EU Global Version) in Germany.
Hi. I recently updated from Fit 3 to Fit 5 pro and it has this health insights feature that fit 3 didn't have. It's an ok feature but what annoys me is when I swipe left to right it shows up at the very top, then there's my calendar, and then there's weather, and only then there's my music control.
So to get down to music control I need to scroll down quite a lot.
This screen can't be rearranged by the looks of it and it annoys me like hell. I wish I could either rearrange it or get rid of unwanted stuff like health insights.
Is there any way to do it?
Thank you.
So I live in Greece and I'm going to buy a Pura 80 ultra with HarmonyOS and I have heard that Google Pay and Google Wallet doesn't work with HarmonyOS 6..
So I was wondering if there is any way to use Revolut cards with contactless payments (NFC) ???
Also I wanted to ask Pura 80 ultra users to tell me how that experience is games in interest are(brawl stars, clash of clans and other less intensive games)?
Thanks
Is it worth downgrading from HarmonyOS 6.1 on my Mate 70? Would I still be able to use Viber/Whatsapp on HarmonyOS 4 without issues? I like Harmony OS 6.1 alot, it's fluid and looks awesome, but the main issue for me is the games I play, can't be run for some reason on Droitong/Easyabroad. Those games work well on HarmonyOS 4.1 and below.
I wore my new Watch Fit 5 Pro in the sauna for the first time today. It overheated and did an auto switch off after a message came up about overheating. Obviously it was really hot in there. However, I wore my previous watch (Garmin Venu Sq 2) in the sauna without any such problem. I'm guessing that it's due to the 5 Pro having metal surround whereas the Garmin is all plastic. Next time I'm going to wrap a cloth around the watch and see if that helps.
Not sure if there's a general issue with the 5 Pro overheating. Of course a sauna is an extreme heat environment! However I see many other people wearing smart/fitness watches in the sauna without issues.
Huawei users should already know the company was placed on the U.S. entity list, meaning no business with American firms like Google. That’s why Huawei devices don’t ship with licensed Google Android code. If Huawei moves from Android 12 to Android 15, they must reengineer HMS and the entire software stack. The result: users get updated software, but Micro-G integration weakens. Features that worked seamlessly on EMUI 12 or 14.2 lose synchronization until Micro-G catches up.
Take EMUI 14.2, it’s perfectly aligned with Micro-G. You get Google apps, full functionality, even YouTube resolution beyond 1080p, as shown in my Mate 50 Pro video. EMUI 15, despite being smoother and better designed, still runs Android 12 code but lacks the same Micro-G maturity. That means you actually lose quality compared to 14.2. You won't get any YouTube videos with 2000p resolution. This is why Huawei is now fully focused on HarmonyOS, not EMUI.
EMUI updates are a waste of time and money. Stop complaining about them or comparing Huawei to Apple. Apple has one OS worldwide. Huawei, with fewer resources, cannot afford two parallel systems while building independence from Android. If waiting is too much, either buy Chinese ROM devices with HarmonyOS 6.1 for monthly updates or switch brands. Huawei’s path is clear: HarmonyOS is the future, EMUI is the past.
I'm going to China on vacation this summer and want to buy a Huawei Pura X. I love the form factor and some of the features seem nice too. Will it work on US networks?
A little context, in the past couple years I've deGoogled a lot. I mostly use Proton for mail/drive/calendar. The only apps I'm really worried about are banking (Chase and Chime), Libby (public library app for ebooks and audiobooks) and some shopping (eBay and Costco).
For perspective, the other device I'm really considering is Fairphone 6 with e/OS Murena
