Switching from Samsung to Honor

Hi guys, im looking to switch from a Samsung Galaxy S23+ to the Honor Magic 8 Pro.

Im looking for someone to share a similar experience that has switched from Samsung to Honor. How has been the experience so far regarding the difference in the software?

And also someone that has Magic 8 Pro to share their experiences with the device, any issues, lags, software bugs, battery health and screen on time.

Any feedback would be appreciated.

How can I remove this feature?

Hi everyone, I need some advice about my Honor 400 Pro. How can I completely disable this feature? Sometimes when I swipe, it activates even though I'm not using my index finger knuckle. I already turned off the knuckle screenshot feature, and while it no longer takes screenshots, it still detects my finger and shows the animation or prompt. I never use this feature, so it's really annoying when it keeps appearing while I'm swiping. Does anyone know how to disable it completely? Thanks!

Okay Honor, what's up with the microphone? (Honor Magic 7 Pro)

So, I bought Honor Magic 7 pro 3 months ago and I have to admit that I'm kinda disappointed. My main issue is the audio quality during video recording. It's so bad that I can't even explain it. The sound is muffled like you're recording underwater (phone never touched a single drop of water) and it's such a shame for a brand new phone.

In case you're wondering, yes, I took off the phone case and removed my finger from the f-ing "microphones" and yes, there's no dust inside.

Is there any way of fixing that problem? Is it hardware or software related?

Honor Magic V6 UK Initial Impressions

So I purchased the Honor Magic V6 on launch day and it was delivered yesterday. I chose the Black version with the free Honor 10 Tablet and Keyboard. I used the pre reg £600 voucher and Honor Points. I added the 100w charger and my total was £1349. I am hoping to sell the tablet for £200.

Battery:

Charged at 13:00 on Sat 4th and it is now 13:44 on Sunday 5th. I am on 68%. I think overnight it dropped by about two percent.

Cameras:

The Honor Magic V3 cameras were a complete joke. The V6 cameras are just brilliant. Faces are not AI slop and the detail levels are amazing. Colours are great on people and grass, sky, buildings etc..I have used the S26 Ultra, Vivo X200&300 Pro and X200 Ultra and Oppo Find X9 Pro this year. I can tell the photos are from Honor, but that is not a bad thing. Unless you really pixel peep, you will not notice much. For a parent with kids or on a day out, the camera is excellent. I think the pics of people clearly beat Vivo and Oppo cameras. Everything else I think is just preference. Samsung lags way behind in everything.

Software:

I had a Magic V5 for about 3 days before I went back to S26 Ultra. I missed one ui. However, I wanted to give Honor another go and Magic OS is growing on me. I gave the V5 back as I got it close to the V6 launch. I have set up my apps exactly like I had on One UI. I wish Honor will allow the inner screen and outer screen to have different layouts. I have no issues with software.

Inner Screen:

This is where I ask myself, why the hell did I go back to a slab phone. The viewing experience is good and the fact I can put the phone down and watch while eating breakfast, it is the small things!

These 3 areas are what I have focused on as the phone is around a day old, but any questions, please ask.

Slight bend in magic pad 4

I have a magic pad 4 and have noticed there is a very very slight bend on the right hand side of the tablet.

I have included some photos here but appreciate it's very hard to see as it's difficult to get a good picture.

The tablet has never been dropped etc.

I've emailed honor about this but do you think they'll just say it's within spec etc? Does anyone else have a magic pad 4 and if so is it perfectly straight all the way around?

I also thought Magic 7 pro camera was an absolute let down but...

Of course the Magic 7 pro might disappoint you in some low light scenarios but with a decent lighting, it definitely surprises you. Check out photos I shot with this beat.

Should i upgrade from ZF6 to Magic V6?

I currently have samsung z fold 6. Thoroughly contemplating getting the magic v6, mainly due to:

  1. massive battery (zf6 SoT is 6 hours 40mins, that too on battery saver on the whole time - which means i dont enjoy 120hz refresh rate, faster processing, AoD, etc), also magic v6 will charge very quickly compared to 25W-45W in zf6. I'm so frustrated, i can never travel for a day trip without a charger, have to charge every opportunity i get, always battery conscious and anxious. So done with this.

  2. Stylus support in both inner and outer screens, added stylus functions like laser pointer and whatnot, idk exactly.

  3. Better screens, wider displays both outer and inner

  4. Wayy slimmer profile. Wayy lighter.

  5. Better cameras!

Only things I'm worried about missing are oneui, multitasking and ecosystem (i have tab s9 ultra).

What do you say? Any personal experiences?

Thanks in advance.

Don't update if you care about accessibility settings

I had just updated to the latest release hoping for fixes to the battery drain and camera API, only to discover they've completely restricted/removed third-party apps' access to accessibility settings. I've tried ADB and everything else — nothing works to restore it. So if you use apps like launchers, gesture tools, or password managers, those aren't going to work anymore. I hope there's a fix for this that I'm missing.

Anyone find Honor Weather kinda inaccurate?

It always shows 2-3C lower temperatures than other apps, and lower UV index as well.

It is currently absolutely scorching outside, yet it suggests adding extra clothing 🫠

Feature Request: Enhanced Calling UI & Magic Capsule Integration for VOIP Calls

Feature Request: Contact-Centric Calling & Magic Capsule UI

Target OS: MagicOS 11

  1. Full-Screen Caller ID What it does: Replaces the small circular contact avatar in the default Phone app with a high-resolution, full-screen contact photo.

  2. Personalized Magic Capsule (Native & VOIP) What it does: Redesigns the pill cutout notification for incoming and active calls (Phone, WhatsApp, Messenger, Instagram).

Key Elements: Contact Photo & Name: Displays the contact’s profile picture and name as the main focus instead of a generic app icon. App Label: Explicitly text-labels the source app (e.g., "Incoming WhatsApp Call" or "Instagram Video Call") directly inside the capsule.

Minimized State: Collapses into a small capsule showing the contact name, app name, and live timer (e.g., 👤 Liam (WhatsApp) • 02:45).

Why It’s Needed Instant Context: Users instantly see exactly who is calling and what app they are using.

Premium Look: Maximizes the hardware cutout with a modern, glass-like multitasking interface.

The two pictures of attached above are just a mere example not the whole concept. The whole main concept is how iOS 26-27 visualizes the calling Ui

Help with customization

For the icons, is there a way to change the colour? I really don't like the grey and I want black custom icons..

For the 2nd one it seems like they will auto set certain wigets to the bg colour.. is there a way for me to custom set that as well?

Sorry if these questions are a little time wasting. Ocd is kicking in

Credits for AirPods integration on mOS10!

Native support for all the functionalities I care about for the Airpods is here at last (probably been since recent mOS 10 update)

Since it also uses magic capsule to show info and connection to the Airpods as specific BT headset, not some generic type with the headset icon and 0 info on Airpods.

This is probably Honor's strong sides, compatibility, I got this though AFTER Apple iPhone pairing and updating, that's how I learned of this and Im enjoying my Airpods even more now with automatic ear detection!

Just take them out and put them back in, no more manual tappings for a 300USD ear pieces and magnetic chargable case initially, 1 yr after release lf the 3rd gen was when I bought them, they are still up towards 250USD today and Im not surprised, reliability+simplicity with advanced tech and engineering is what Apple is producing.

Getting good vibes from this, at last, Honor 200P+400P would be my last Honor phones may need to be reclaimed if their software game gets up!

This all before Android 17 and mOS11 also, I totally am satisfied with staying on those for both phones, since I notice slight lags already upon bootups on control center when dragging it down the 1st-2nd times, even on the 400P which was fine until recent features update.

Android 18+ with more agentic AI will only make the chip throttle too much imo IF they dont somehow optimize the coming OS and apps so its 5x-10x more power efficient.

(Which it is for 8 gen 5+, while gen 4 elite is clear thermal baby syndromes)

Please do share you opinions, no need to have any apple products to get this gap between the different techs, closing in on each other, not only visually but the systems.

Phone doesn't meet security requirements

Just now this popped up when I'm trying to use google wallet. Was able to use it before this June update. Anyone knows how to fix this?
