This year marks the 250th Anniversary of America’s Declaration of Independence, and our country is at an unprecedented crossroads. At a time when our country should be coming together to celebrate all that we are, how far we’ve come, and commit to finishing the work to make America a place where freedom and equality are truly for all, a white supremacist faction is pushing our country in the opposite direction.
Trump wants to keep the promise of America only for the wealthy, and the MAGA regime is in the midst of trying to whitewash our past to lay the groundwork for a white supremacist future, erasing the ongoing impacts of enslavement, Jim Crow, and genocide, and the gains won through generations of struggle. Reckoning with our full history is how we make this country live up to its ideals.
While we reject Trump's whitewashed 250th, all of US will join together on June 27th to take up the torch and make this country a place where liberty and justice are for all. In Raleigh, 50501 NC will be marching to OUT! Raleigh Pride, standing in solidarity with the 2SLGBTQIA+ community. Events are happening all across North Carolina that same day.
