Questions about install quality

hi all,

seeking advice on installation and pipe runs.

installation of Daikin Aura 7KW currently in progress.

Am I reasonable being concerned about the ceiling pipe ru not being trucked around perimeter rather than piping going across ceiling?

what’s your take on the outdoor unit?

two tile stand solution reasonable?

should I be worried about that post ( and down spout) placed in front of fan?

anything else you notoce that’s rather peculiar?many thanks in advance!

Daikin RXM50YFMA vs Mitsubishi MFZ-KW50

Hi all,

currently exploring getting a air2air heat pump installed in our living-kitchen area and found those two units looking potential suitable.

I would be interested to learn how those two units differ in terms built and functionality and which one may be more suitable for me.

we are living in the south of a new Zealand which has cool, maritime climate. temperatures here get down to -4 and are often below 7c.

Due to space constraints, the outdoor unit would be installed in a quite damp sport that’s permanently shaded in winter.

the internal unit would likely be a floor cassette installed under the window.

I have attached a floor plan and marked the heat pump units in red. 125yo weatherboard with ceiling insulation installed, southern windows double glazed. northern windows single glazed. Walls scrim-sarking construction without any insulation fitted. ceiling height about 3meters.

i understand the Daikin has a higher COP than the Mitsubishi, but return the Mitsubishi guarantees full output at temperatures below 7c. Considering climate and location, as well as other features and build quality which one do you believe is the better choice?

TYIA 😊

Hi all,

starting to explore whether installing solar may be an option for us.

Located in Dunedin, two Units, high power usage, usually between 20KWH daily and summer and 50-100 during Winter combined. last year consumed about 15000 KWH.

Got a few questions about it all:

  1. Am I needing scaffolding to get it installed?

  2. If getting scaffolding for sole purpose of installing panels, would the cost of financially render the project possibly not viable?

  3. How suitable is the roof?

  4. We’re living upstairs, but got a rental downstairs, could the system be installed smart enough to connect to both units depending on needs and energy demands?

  5. Any other possible challengers I might not be aware of?

TIA
