Moving to Greenwich!

My partner and I are starting to do house viewings in Greenwich and would love any info on the areas!

We’d love to live by Cutty Sark (big dreams I know) but our affordability is pushing us slightly out of the main area. We’ve found some gorgeous houses that would fit our needs in Charlton/Blackheath/Kidbrook/Deptford but we don’t know the areas at all and don’t want to risk moving somewhere run down / unclean streets / high crime.

We’re looking for a nice neighbourhood, friendly people, close to the fun but somewhere my partner won’t have to collect me from the station every day in the winter in fear of me getting home safe (he briefly lived in Tottenham so the fear is justified).

Any knowledge on the areas is welcome! We’re a couple in our late 20’s looking for somewhere close to the fun, days out but also peaceful evenings in. Thanks!

Day 76!

I finished my first 75 hard yesterday so here are my final thoughts on the challenge!

Overall:
People don’t rave about this challenge for no reason. The results are massive. That being said, this was by no means a challenge where I would push myself to a PB or until I drop every single day. I stayed steady, consistent, regular and now on day 76 - none of my clothes fit me and it’s compliments all round. I’m so over the moon with the transformation!

I didn’t have a gym membership so my exercises consisted of 1 x daily walk outside (usually fast paced, sometimes with weights) and one indoor YouTube workout or swimming. My diet was the Mediterranean diet, and I did skip out the gallon of water for 2litre (I’m 5’3 and it was too excessive, I was peeing crystal clear every 40 minutes and it was breaking my sleep multiple times through the night).

Pros:
- it clearly works!!
- Finding time in the day to look after myself became a priority
- it opened my eyes to how processed our food is... I opted for natural ingredients and healthy options
- I dropped 2-3 dress sizes…
- I feel amazing mentally!
- Reading every day showed me how consuming our phones are and now I’ve deleted most social media
- I became more creative in the kitchen always cooking up new healthy recipes
- I became so aware of how much badness I was filling my body with.
- taught me discipline in saying NO. I won’t have a drink, I won’t stay out late, I no longer give in to people’s peer pressure.
- I genuinely will carry on this lifestyle going forward. I’ve found a new love for looking after my mind and body. It really does speak for itself.
- I started looking into the psychology behind the challenge. I like that it’s designed to make you rely on discipline rather than motivation. The two workouts force you to plan your day, the outdoor workout gets you away from your desk, and 75 days is long enough that consistency becomes a habit instead of a burst of motivation.

Cons:
- it is bloody hard. Some nights I had my boyfriend and housemates screaming at me to finish the day. Couldn’t have done it without them.
- people will constantly roll their eyes at you when they ask you why you’re not drinking or can’t stay out late.
- girls… the time of the month will push you to emotional and physical strengths, and you will likely want to give it all up so you can curl up in bed with a hot water bottle. Yoga in your pyjamas is the perfect answer.
- the first two weeks, and the last two weeks, are the hardest weeks emotionally and physically. Knowing I was a week away from the end left me with a false sense of completion and “what’s a difference in a week” attitude. Don’t cave to this, it is so much of a better feeling when you get to the end of the challenge.
- you likely won’t have time for anything else in the day. Prepare to say no, or to make your friends work in a walk as part of your catch up. I was lucky to have supportive friends who did the workouts with me.
- if your dad is a chef, he will be offended when you go round for dinner (sorry, Dad)
- sometimes you will go on a night out and spend 6 hours dancing and still have to complete a 45 minute workout when you get home while everyone else eats their McDonald’s (but you wake up with no hangover and get to feel amazing the next day).

I feel amazing, I look amazing, my mind is clear, and I’ve learned so much about myself as a person. Truly incredible journey. I’ve even been complimented on the whites of my eyes?? My skin, my glow, my attitude, my happiness, my figure, all of it has achieved compliments and praise. I’m confident, secure, happy, and love myself because of this challenge. Highly recommend!

First time Apple Watch owner!

I bought my first Apple Watch yesterday, series 9 41mm for £160, not too bad. In great condition apart from one tiny scratch.

I’ve set it up with my iPhone and worked out all the features. I just need to set it up for what I need now. Any tips or tricks to optimise watch use? I’m all for using it to its max but also don’t want to be overloaded with notifications and things to do, I’m treating it as a nice break away from my phone.

I want to keep it primarily for health, fitness and motivation. I swim a lot and eat healthy most days so trackers, stat apps, motivation, and just all rounder suggestions? Will the scratch in the screen affect my watch when swimming? Also would really like to track stress and sleep as best I can.

Also open to other app suggestions that you just think are cool.
