How long does it typically take to get final grades back over the Summer term?

I just finished my Summer classes this last week and don't know if they end up getting distributed faster, slower or about the same time as any other term as Summer 2026 is my first term at OSU.

Thanks

When does financial aid typically disperse?

Fall term will be my first term receiving financial aid at osu and I’ve heard some people say they get it quickly and others say they get it later, what’s the actual standard time it’s supposed to be sent out per term?

Anyone know how to get the deq waived for living in corvo?

Need to get new registration and I heard Corvallis doesn’t require deq but where I had my car registered previously was in Portland and it was required there. I tried to set it up and pay it online but it refuses to give me the option to update my address on there and says I need to see the deq before I can register it again

Good Endodontist in town?

I just moved for school and I need to find an Endo in order to get a root canal that I have been putting off until after I moved. Any references would be helpful, if being a veteran helps that's also useful information, but any dentist that is highly valued is what I am after.

Thanks for reading 😊

Anyone got advice on software internships in defense?

Going into my junior year at college and doing an internship this summer working with machine learning and using massive dataflow’s with helping to clean up large concentrations of PFOS and PFAS forever chemicals. I’ve taken a real fondness to low level systems architecture (C/++, and even assembly considering it’s very tedious) and would really like to stick around the military environment, preferably in San Diego but it’s not a requirement. That said I’m working on getting the security + cert and have prior secret clearance. Have maintained 4.0 gpa since I returned to school last year. Have experience with 3d printing and my university even has a large club for it that I’m a part of too. I’m working on getting into building drones with the printers too and while I haven’t done so yet my goal is to develop my own software for them here this year. I haven’t used Matlab in a few years but I’ve got back into it recently for the same reason and I know that’s a common language used in the defense space.

If anyone has advice on what will help me stand out for interviews or even getting them, I’d really appreciate it.

Question about CS - 274

I know it's a in between course for folks who have not taken a C++ class before to give them an overview of the material prior to taking higher level stuff within Operating Systems and that's not something I'm bothered by, learning isn't inherently bad and it probably has certain topics I haven't learned before. That said however I was wondering if there is anyone on here that could tell me if you already have experience with C/C++ if the class would even be worth it? I am also on VA benefits so it's not something I would be wasting money on necessarily, but I did all my lower division courses at my local community college and received A's in all of them. So that said, if I already did those classes with C++ and received fantastic grades across the board in them should I just try to skip it via an evaluation of my abilities or is it worth actually taking it? I read the course overview and it sounded like it was mostly just an intro class to the language and would be on topics I already feel confident with like Pointers, Memory Allocation, Heaps and Stacks, Data Types, etc.

Thanks

Does anyone know how many credits are considered to be full time during summer term for veterans benefits?

I am currently signed up for 12 credits for summer term but if I only have to do 8 credits that would help alot with time requirements.

Question about local housing

Apologies in advance, I know there’s a whole page dedicated to hosting but I noticed it doesn’t seem to get a lot of attention.

I recently got denied approval at the local apartments I was really hoping to get into. This is a serious bummer but obviously I still need to find a place since it’s not an option anymore. I have way more than enough to justify a place for around 1600 a month however the last year I made late payment to my current place. I always paid my rent but sometimes I got behind due to other life issues like my dog being forced to go to the emergency room at midnight because he’s suffering from soft tissue sarcoma (aggressive and terminal cancer). That said, does anyone know if on campus housing could be a better option given my circumstances?

Again sorry for not posting in the housing thread.

Do we have a list of everyone’s favorite food spots?

Whether it’s on campus or nearby I looked through some of the questions asked on the page and couldn’t find much, much less that’s recent. I was just in town yesterday to look at apartments and ended up getting some delicious banh mi right next to that board game store in downtown Corvallis. Would love some other foodie hot spots to consider once I’m officially moved in next month.

Thanks 😊

I will be doing a summer internship here starting next month at my university working with massive datasets that require using ML to help with building their application on forever chemicals and finding where there might be higher concentrations so they know better where to pull them out of the ground from. I talked to my community college instructors and couple buddies who already work in industry and they said it would be very useful since alot of people leave college without experience in it and they wouldn't need to teach you as much about it if you've already used it before. That said, that's just people within my own bubble and I am interested in hearing other peoples thoughts on the technology.

Thanks in advance for your time.

I love my current doctor but she lives in Portland and want to find another really good one in the Corvallis area. Plus if they have veteran or student discounts but honestly as long as they do really good work it’s not a requirement. Thanks in advance 😊

I have a Labrador that has an unfortunately aggressive tumor on his throat of all places and I wanted to get it checked on here when we move down to Corvallis in June. I heard they have specialists there and I was wondering if they’re good and if their prices are worth the cost. Thanks 😊

Meaning, if I get there early like when they open at 6am would it be hard to find parking? or should I try and find a local gym outside campus? I've seen good things about Downing's Gym just south of campus.
