
International buyer not responding to customs calls - package may return.
Sold on eBay, shipped via DHL Express to Germany (buyer paid, tracking active, package arrived at destination customs). DHL says they've tried calling the buyer multiple times to get clearance info and he hasn't picked up / hung up once. Screenshot of the current tracking status below.
I've messaged the buyer through eBay to ask him to respond to DHL, but no luck so far. Today may be the last attempt before it's returned.
A few questions for anyone who's dealt with this:
- What usually happens to the buyer's payment if the package is returned to me undelivered, do I refund minus shipping?
- Does this ever come back as an INR case against the seller, even though tracking clearly shows it was the importer not responding to customs?
- Any tips for pushing this along faster on my end?
Tracking is fully documented on my end, package shipped fast, all handled correctly - just navigating the buyer-side customs holdup for the first time. Appreciate any experience-based advice!
