International buyer not responding to customs calls - package may return.

International buyer not responding to customs calls - package may return.

Sold on eBay, shipped via DHL Express to Germany (buyer paid, tracking active, package arrived at destination customs). DHL says they've tried calling the buyer multiple times to get clearance info and he hasn't picked up / hung up once. Screenshot of the current tracking status below.

I've messaged the buyer through eBay to ask him to respond to DHL, but no luck so far. Today may be the last attempt before it's returned.

A few questions for anyone who's dealt with this:

  • What usually happens to the buyer's payment if the package is returned to me undelivered, do I refund minus shipping?
  • Does this ever come back as an INR case against the seller, even though tracking clearly shows it was the importer not responding to customs?
  • Any tips for pushing this along faster on my end?

Tracking is fully documented on my end, package shipped fast, all handled correctly - just navigating the buyer-side customs holdup for the first time. Appreciate any experience-based advice!

Picked up this Jet Concorde chronograph - opened the caseback and found a Valjoux 7750. What's something like this actually worth?

Found this interesting watch. The dial says "Jet Concorde" - never heard of the brand, honestly. Two-tone case, blue dial, day-date, three sub-dials, screw-lock pushers. Looked like a decent vintage chrono but nothing special from the outside.

Then I opened the caseback.

Sitting inside is a genuine Valjoux 7750 - the early 17-jewel version with the white plastic reset lever. I almost didn't believe it. This is the same base caliber that powers chronographs from Breitling, IWC, TAG Heuer, and others. All chrono functions work - start, stop, reset - day and date advance, keeps time on the wrist.

The case is marked "10161 / 10 ATM / ALL STAINLESS STEEL" on the back.

A few things I'm curious about:

  • Has anyone seen Jet Concorde watches before? I can't find much info on the brand itself.
  • For a working 7750 in an unknown-brand case - what's the realistic value here? Is the movement worth more than the complete watch to most buyers?
  • The 17-jewel count - I've read that early 7750s had 17j before ETA bumped it to 25. Does the early version carry any premium or is it the opposite?

Would love to hear from anyone who knows more about these obscure-brand 7750 pieces. Feels like a hidden gem but I might be wrong.

1972 Seiko 6139-8002 with Japanese commemorative caseback, full original including XJA151 bracelet

Sharing a recent find, a Feb 1972 Seiko Speed-Timer 6139-8002, Caseback has "創立30周年記念" engraved (30th Founding Anniversary), suggesting it was issued as a corporate gift in Japan and stayed there until now.

The 6139B is one of the most historically important automatic chronograph movements ever made, one of the first three in the world to reach production in 1969. This one still runs strong 54 years later.

Any thoughts on tracking down the original company? Curious if anyone has seen similar engravings.

Found this recently and it stopped me in my tracks. The design language is unmistakable, octagonal case, exposed screws at the cardinal points, integrated angular bracelet, slim profile that hugs the wrist. Zodiac was doing this in the 1980s from Le Locle, Switzerland.

The bezel insert has developed a warm brown tropical patina from decades of UV exposure, completely natural, impossible to fake. The black dial with gold applied indices and that little red dot accent below "ASTROQUARTZ" at 6 is clean and intact. Original Zodiac-signed bracelet with signed clasp still present.

Caseback has the Zodiac crosshair logo with ref. 1262 722.

A couple of questions for the community:

  • What's the current collector market doing with Astroquartz models, especially with original bracelet intact?
  • Anyone know the production numbers or how many variants existed?
  • Fair market value in this condition?

Would love to hear from anyone who's owned or handled one of these..
