You can use Norra's TP to force a left/right mixup from a roll

You can adjust Norra''s 4F and 2F to land on both left or right side of your opponent from both roll options they have from a knockdown to enforce a left right mix of your choosing. (You still have to guess the roll option correctly). In this example, I set the Toph to use 2A to show this hits meaty.

  • 2F catches backroll -> hold back after the TP to land in front of the opponent, or nothing/forward to land in the corner. It's important to time the 2C rather quickly after landing so you change sides with the opponent before they start the roll.
  • 4F catches a forward roll -> hold back for the roll to end ahead of you (you can micro walk before the TP, but that may make it more obvious), or forward so the opponent rolls past you. This one is a bit trickier to get the meaty timing right.

I suggest using 2B as the meaty button cause that is Norra's button with the most active frames, but if you feel you were late and not hitting meaty, 2A is a quicker button that can be slightly mashed. DOn;t forget you can add the DP or throws to mix up even more with these TPs.

A little bit on the Avatar State characters and why you should be hyped to see them finished

As someone who is really enjoying Avatar Legends, specially playing as Nightmare Korra (or Norra, which is how people are shortening it), I'm making this post for non Avatar fans to understand a bit more about these characters and why they are big deals, so maybe some people that jumped ship may get excited to try the game again once they are completed. Heavy Avatar spoilers below (watch it, it's really good).

Korra in the Avatar state escaping from Zaheer

Starting with Nightmare Korra, she is a manifestation of Korra's PTSD from being poisoned by Zaheer. He tries to poison her with some kind of metal substance, forcing her body to go into the Avatar State and kill her there (lore reasons), but she manages to escape from her chains using Metalbending (hence why people say the chains are important) and almost dies in the fight, taking 3 years to recover, bound to a wheel chair and unable to use the Avatar state after that.

Korra having PTSD of the Avatar State, what we call Nightmare Korra

After that, she still has visions of herself in the Avatar State, dreamy like teleports included. You can see in the video a moment where she drops Korra in a pool of metal poison, which may very well be a cool candidate for her LV7.

Aang's final fight with Ozai

Meanwhile, as you can see in the in game portrait, Avatar Aang (2:15 in the video) is based on his final fight with Ozai. After suffering a lethal lightning injury from Azula in his back, Aang lost the ability to tap in the Avatar state. During his fight, Ozai acidentally hits that point of his body, making him enter the state and go berserk. He loses control and becomes completely unhinged and with a serious demeanor, honestly kind of a monster. His moveset in game reflects it well, you can see some of his moves such as the "rock machine gun" and the water grab in the video, and making him a zoner was a great call, but the current sprites, specially the fact he has very goofy ones and has his staff, don't reflect how cool the character is.

There was a lot of discussion regarding Avatar Aang and Nightmare Korra when they were first shown, and a lot of jokes around how Avatar fans were disappointed and weren't ready for the "Goku" syndrome from FighterZ. As you can see, the problem with them is not that we have more Korra and Aang, it was just that they didn't seem like the characters we expected. A lot of people were very hyped for them, but they did not look like what they are in the animation.

To make a comparison with the Goku's, they are similar to what UI Goku is: a form, but one that is completely different from the base character, hence why people were kinda disappointed they don't look different at all.

Overall, both are very cool characters with enough variety, which the devs honestly nailed in game gameplay wise, that don't feel like jsut Korra or Aang with glowing eyes. They will look amazing with their finished design, and I hope the devs kinda use them to market it as a second wind for the game.

I'm really liking the game and I'm hoping it has a healthy player base going forward, despite the rough launch, and I hope this read may have sparked some interest in the characters, the game or even the series.

(Kinda wish they removed Norra's fur coat from the game, tho lol)

I'm extremelly disappointed in the Avatar State characters

They look like how we expected in portraits, but not in game. Korra not having the chains and not having her hair down is a huge disappointment, for example, and same for Aang not being shirtless.

I unserstand why, they reuse a lot of moves and animations from their base form, but this is not what I expected when the 2 where counted for the base 12 characters.

It's also really disappointing cause this means we are not getting proper Nightmare Korra with the chains down the line.

EDIT: Just making it clear I don't mind the asset reuse. I would just rather we have 10 characters and both of them were proper, unique characters later.

Hot take: Legends is 12 years old. To anyone outside this community, remaking it is actually an ok decision

I agree there were better options for it, such as any game of the original trilogy, but despite being the newest in the franchise, Legends is an old game at this point.

Rayman kinda faded out of the media, and it makes sense that Ubisoft would first try to take less effort (level design efforts barely needed) to bring it back in a manner that makes it easy. Legends was probably picked over Origins cause the ywant to adjsut the story going forward, and Legends plot was a mess.

Adjsuting the story and giving Barbara actual significance is a great start. While I would definitelly prefer older remakes or something new, what we are getting actually looks good.
