Running Boston for the first time in 2027! Arriving Friday and leaving Tuesday, staying in Back Bay.

Planning to hit the expo, catch a Red Sox game, explore the city, and find some good restaurants.

Looking for recommendations on race-day logistics, course strategy, shakeout runs, restaurants, must-see spots, and anything to avoid.

For those who’ve run Boston before, what are your biggest tips or lessons learned? Anything you’d do differently? Good experiences you would do again?

Appreciate any advice!

Marathon runner experiencing heel pain in center of heel. After a harder run, very tender and feels bruised. Dead center of heel, also tender in the side area consistent with plantar fasciitis. I’ve had plantar fasciitis before and didn’t experience center heel pain/bruising feeling. 3-5 days off running, the tender and soreness goes down. At its worst im limping on it. Xray was negative per podiatrist. Podiatrist was not sure, plantar fasciitis or nerve related. Sent me to Physical therapy. Feeling hopeless. Push for a MRI? Or give PT a shot.

Update- went to PT who specializes in runners. Workout out bottom of heel, said bunch of micro tearing and scarring. Working to change running dynamic and loosen hips and IT band. PT was confident in overcoming it without any more medical visits or further testing.

New to cycling. Can anyone rank your favorite brands? What’s the most expensive premium down to decent quality? Looking for the low down on gear and apparel mostly bibs, jerseys.

Sent money deposit to artist who has big following on Instagram. Artist put me on the books for a date. Days before date, I messaged and artist never responded. Artist got back two weeks later and made an excuse that his instagram was hacked. Never gave another date, It’s been a few weeks now. Won’t respond anymore. File a police report or take it as a loss? I have a feeling he is doing this to multiple people. Mainly don’t want others to get scammed. Getting numerous stories from people saying he’s an addict.
