I planted an Acapulco Gold in a raised bed. I think I over watered it and it basically shrivelled up and died over the course of a week. The first picture is the RIP pic, the second was a few weeks after it was planted in the bed. Can overwatering alone result in this? The root ball was very small and pulled right out of the ground. It was strange.
Any input appreciated!
The first pic is this year, the second if last year. Can a slightly wetter cooler year be the whole explanation? I may have somewhat over watered but it seems like a major difference
I have a few Vancouver hidden gems that I’m surprised aren’t talked about more often, and it got me wondering what other great under-the-radar spots I’m missing.
What are your favourite places that deserve more attention?
Mine are BBQ-season themed:
• Fraserview Meat Shop (50th & Fraser) — inexpensive pre-marinated meats that are perfect for summer BBQs and potlucks.
• Kim Chau Deli (22nd & Kingsway) — distributor of Vietnamese marinated meats sold frozen and vacuum-sealed. Some of the city’s best Vietnamese restaurants buy from them, and the prices are very reasonable.
• Yare’s Mexican Butcher (27th & Fraser) — amazing cecina and other Mexican meats.
What are yours?
Is it squash vine borers? Something else?
