I started running a campaign for some friends from work last year and the campaign is still going now. I have a few more friends from work who are interested in joining. They’ve never played before, and one has never played a TTRPG before either.

An idea that came to me, instead of immediately dropping them into the established campaign, is to run a one-shot with them and the rest of the group, just so they can get a handle of the game and the mechanics. Should I do that or should I just immediately get them involved in the ongoing campaign?

If do run a one-shot, should I just do one of the premade ones or should I come up with an original one?

Scenario: They do another Time Quangle live show, but this time all the Intrepid Heroes play NPCs from different Intrepid Hero settings (minus City Council of Darkness, because it’s still going on and we haven’t been introduced to all of them & because they use too different of a system than the rest of them, so it may be a bit difficult play-wise).

Which Intrepid Hero would you like to see play which NPC? Please try to represent at least two different settings so they don’t all come from the same place.

Pretty simple question. You don’t have to say anything specific about the character, like name, class, etc., if you don’t have anything in mind. If you have that much thought out & wish to share it, great. But it’s not necessary. The only necessary part is what kind of candy they would be.

I have put some thought into mine. The candy my hypothetical PC would be is chewing gum, specially so I can call him Henrique “The Chicle” Dulcea. He would be their jester, so naturally he would be a Bard.
