to people who says SAAS IS DEAD ? did we forget what the economy was all about ?

Now adays with Ai people are saying the saas is dead because instead of buying a subscription they can just make the same app with Ai .

but I have question have you forget what all the economy was about ? and the specialization.

everyone needs A,B,C ...
so everyone is doing those for themselves
person X , can do his A very good in less time and better quality . so he do his from some other people in the group in return he get his B,C .... from the specialized ones of the group so he can work half the day and get everything in best quality .

you know : "work for each other and pay each other money."

now for software and saas ,
lets say the subscription for saas product X , is 10$/m ... and your Hourly rate is 20$/m
and you said why paying 10$ I will make it myself and you spend 50h creating a lesser version that is enough just for you . by less I mean , there is no payment gateway or multi-user login or scaling backend . and lets say for you it works as good as the paid saas one .

but those 50h you spend . if you have spent them on a paid work you would have made 1000$ . today. while spending the same hours on the saas copy you saved 10$ this month . and still 990$ left . after 8.2 year of using your vibe coded app only them you would make ROI .

and in this 8.2 the app mush work flawlessly if you spend just half an hour on maintenance of the app that month no longer counts .

all that and we did not factor in the lost opportunity. like those 1000$ if they got invested with 10% return yearly . so after 8 years that would be 2000$ . so you need to use the app another 10 more years . and by then to total will be 5500$ .

so factoring in lost opportunity you would never make an ROI of your "saving" and you did not save any money actually.

I dont see a way where the person inhouse vibecoded alternative can win financal and really saves him money , unless he will make it in very short amount of time , or his hourly rate is really low like he is unemployed .

thats on small one person scale . now in corporate environment , do you think any company will accept stacy from HR running her vibecoded app , and kevin from accounting running his vibecodeed accounting app . can you imagine what miss that would be .

He survived but he wont come back

in S01E12

After Johns sent cole to 2015 after the White Dragon incident,
the other scientist is asking her to pull him back, and she very calmly says to him : "he survived in , but he is not coming back."

Why? Because I think over here we see the only time she is cheating from her younger self, she already has the memory of Cole when he came to her for treatment and she helped cure him.

The second memory is that after a few events, when he called her back another time, for the second time, and asked her to pull him back to the future, but she rejects.

So from her perspective, her older self, she knows who Cole is. She knows that she treated him in 2015, and she knows as well that he got stuck in the past and never could return back to the future.

So this explains the two parts where she said he survived and he won't come back. Because this is her only interaction with Cole as a younger self .

Have you watched the 12monkey movie .

After finishing my rewatch of 12 Monkeys, I remembered that there was also a movie based on it. The movie came out in 1995, while the TV show came out in 2015. And interestingly, both are based on the same source material.

So I decided to watch the movie, especially since it won some awards and has some famous actors, like Brad Pitt , and Bruce willis .

Man... the movie is nothing, absolutely nothing, compared to the TV show.

Not just the story, but also the way the events unfold. There are so many filler scenes that could have been completely removed without changing anything. Even the plot itself feels pretty weak compared to what the TV series managed to build.

And honestly, this says a lot about the directors and writers of the TV series. They took what was essentially a much smaller story and turned it into something genuinely high quality and completely different from the movie, despite the movie having a much bigger budget and famous actors.

It's actually pretty impressive how much they managed to build from that original idea.

12 monkeys ... never enough rewatch .

I just finished rewatching the 12 Monkeys. I have no words. My favorite show by far. No time travel show comes close to it. And also compared to the current day's shows, where they're extended with not much of events, not much of a plot, just trying to make more episodes for no reason but get subscription money. This kind of show is like breath of life because like in every detail around in the show there is like some hidden something hidden or like some plot twist or something here and there. Amazing.

this is maybe this is like the fifth or sixth time I have rewatched it.
First time I come across it around 2018, and still I find I'm finding stuff along the way.

And also till now I couldn't figure out how the loops of the show got looped and how the original timeline was, and then with each attempt to time travel it gets like tangled. I even tried to get the help of an AI, but I couldn't get it even close. It's just like it's a tangled mess, that you enjoy .

Fellow developers Whats your work flow with cursor looks like ?

I am trying to understand how other developers right now are working with cursor.
To improve my process .

I tried to search online but all the videos on YouTube are just targeted toward the beginners and vibe coders , and made by beginners and vibe coders young tech bro.

I am looking for answer from real developers who had experience before 2022 .

the main points I am wondering about .
1- if you are using the agent window , what is your process .
2- and most important the code review process you follow .
3- your actual work flow in details .
4- tips and tricks in cursor that makes your life easier .

I will share my work flow and setup in the comments section .

It was good while it lasted ... no more unlimited 😢

My unlimited Auto package ended today, and it was great. The best thing about it was never having to worry about limits or usage at all. While reading news about people spending thousands, I was sitting here doing what I wanted with unlimited Auto , (which I did not abuse, as my usage was only around 300 million tokens / month ).

I really should thank Cursor for such a great product; I’ve noticed how it has become better and better each month , starting from when it was spitting out nonsense and failing to complete tasks, forcing me to tag files one by one .... to the point where a simple prompt allows it to keep the entire repo in mind, execute all changes, and even think ahead. The developer and user experience are at their peak, and the button to browse changes and move between lines and files is very smooth. I linked it to a remote device with a microphone button;

I hope the new package won't be a financial burden and that the $20 or $60 plan will cover my usage. and here for another yearly subscription with cursor .

my only real worry is that elon fxs it up , or they push more toward the agents window and the vibe-coders crowd .

Unlimited Auto Ends This Month ... What's Your Plan?

Hey all,

I'm trying to figure out what to do once the Unlimited Auto plan ends.

Back in April (my highest usage month), I worked around 200 active hours and used about 334 million tokens, all through Auto (see attached image).

Based on that usage, would the $60/month plan be enough, or would I be looking at something closer to $200/month or even $1,000/month? 😢😅

- so anyone similar usage ~300m , moslty auto . what plan are you on currently?

Best Salary bank account ?

hey all , I am new here and for receiving my salary there is lots of banks and its hard to collect all the details about the offers and features they give even with Ai , because of all the fin print .

so if you can help from your experience which bank do you recommend .

some info ,
- current salary around 15k AED (in case there is some limit)
- I don't have family and not planing to (so any schooling / medical is not a feature to me )
- I am planing to buy house at some point so if some bank in recommended for real-estate finance and opening salary account with them will help me build a relation toward a real-estate loan later that would be great .

PS : right now I think about NBD because of the noon card it offers and noon is my most used app anything other than rent and bills I buy it from noon .
