Something strange has arrived in South Africa...

For the entire month of October, our Discord server is being taken over by SPOOKTOBER. 🎃

Expect challenges, competitions, mini-games, mysteries, hidden surprises, community events, and a healthy amount of chaos as we count down to Halloween.

The South African beach episode was supposed to be just that — an episode.

A little break from the wars, politics, alliances, general WarEra headaches and maybe even make a little baby boom along the way.

But apparently some of us weren't ready to go back.

So we did the (not) sensible thing.

We went to Mozambique. 🇲🇿

I mean, why end the beach episode when we could just... move it?

And so began the Mozambique chapter: more beaches, more cocktails, more volleyball, more dramatic staring at the ocean, more tiny bikinis, and absolutely no intention of getting back to the main plot any time soon.

But what's a beach vacation without a party?

The idea is simple:

We liked the beach episode. We want more beach episode.

No grand ideology. No complicated manifesto.

Just beaches, good vibes and the occasional competitive volleyball match.

There is, however, one serious issue....

We were informed that the Mozambican flag is upside down in-game.

He has been a lone warrior in this cause for far too long, so naturally, we will aid him in his noble quest to right this terrible injustice.

And maybe it was a bit messy, honestly?

But we're not here for the drama. You’ve got to smash a few watermelons and get hit in the head with a volleyball for it to be a real beach episode anyway.

We’re trying something new to solve South Africa’s biggest problem: Not enough babies.

So naturally, we got together our favorite players and avatars, brought out the bikinis, and hit beaches and cocktails for a BEACH EPISODE! 🍹

I've been playing WarEra for almost a year now, and I'm looking for some new South Africans to join us.

WarEra is a free browser-based strategy game where you can fight wars, run businesses, vote, join the military, get involved in politics and even work your way up to President. If you've played Civilization, Hearts of Iron or eRepublik, you'll probably feel at home.

South Africa is currently struggling with a population of only around 200 players, so we're looking for some fresh blood to help rebuild the country. You can start as a soldier and, if you get into it, end up commanding armies, running the economy or even running the country.

The best part for me, though, has been the community. We've ended up doing things well beyond WarEra: D&D, quiz nights, other multiplayer games and generally just hanging out. A lot of us have made genuine friends along the way.
