Baby Led Weaning when out and about - help!

My baby is turning 7 months old this week. We’ve been doing solids for about a month, and started with baby led weaning and mashed foods on a spoon which she self feeds - and it’s going really well! Very messy, but she’s liked almost everything she’s tried, and manages food well.

However, I’ve really struggled with feeding her out and about. There are a few different issues:

Mess: At home, I don’t worry about mess, and then wipe her down with warm water as soon as she’s finished, and use a bibado bib which I immediately rinse off in the sink. When we’re out and about, the high chairs are usually quite big and rarely have trays, making the bibado less efficient. She often drops her food or her spoon, and I feel very self conscious and like I’m too focused on mess. Wet wipes don’t get her as clean as water either!

High chair: High chairs in public are often too big, they don’t have a foot rest (which I’ve read is importance!), and they don’t have a tray, so her food needs to go directly on the table, but then there’s usually a gap! I’ve also tried feeding her in her pushchair but then the pushchair gets messy.

What to feed: When you’re meeting someone for coffee etc. do you order baby something off the menu? Or do you cook snacks at home and bring them? I’ve tried a few BLW recipes that I guess I could bring out and about, mostly she just has veggies cut into appropriate sizes, toast with toppings, omelette strips, or mashed up versions of what we’re having - which would be hard to transport! I’d love to order stuff for her but never sure about salt content…

I think I’m probably massively overthinking all of this, but any tips for BLW in public, or a walk through of your process, would be really appreciated!

Being supervised as a learner driver - can my FIL supervise me without insurance on the car?

I am learning to drive, and would like to practise in the car I own with my husband that I’ll be driving when I pass.

- I am insured on the car with my provisional license.
- My husband is insured on the car, but passed his test last year, so can’t supervise me.
- My FIL has been driving many years, but is not insured on our car. He has motability insurance on his own vehicle.

Can my FIL supervise me, as long as my husband is also in the car? (So could take over driving if for some reason I couldn’t?)

Does my FIL have to sit in the front if he’s supervising, or could my husband sit in the front with me as long as my FIL is in the car?

Thanks!

Help me choose new products!

I am a complete newbie to this! Until a few months ago, I just washed my face with whatever body wash I was using, and was basically fine…

However, I recently had a baby, and I think the combination of my age and the postpartum hormone crash caught up to me, my combination skin just went awful, the dry parts literally looked like scales, and the oily parts all broke out in spots.

I’ve now been doing morning and evening:
- Cleanser (CeraVe Blemish Control Cleanser)
- Toner (Simple Kind to Skin Soothing Facial Toner)
- Moisturiser (Morning - Simple Triple Protect Moisturiser SPF 30, Night - Cetaphil PRO Night Cream)

I bought these products because they were cheap on Amazon, and as a starting point, it’s really helped! I am not breaking out any more or feeling really dry, but I would say my skin is still dull, and I get redness in my cheeks a lot. I’d also like more of a ‘glow’ to my skin.

I have an M&S gift card that I’d like to use to treat myself to some nicer products - but I don’t know where to start! Any advice appreciated 😄

How do I avoid ‘Error 15’?

Like many others, I am attempting to move my practical test to a sooner slot (currently have November, hoping for mid July / August!)

Advice seems to be keep refreshing the search, however after a few refreshes I end up getting the ‘Error 15’ message attached in my screenshot. This then locks me out of searching for a couple of hours.

I tend to get this more if I refresh repeatedly, but it’s also happened when I am refreshing every 5 minutes (so leaving a break between).

Is there a specific pattern of refreshing I can do to avoid being locked out?

Thanks in advance!

Fit Check - Tula Free to Grow

I’ve been carrying my nearly 5 month old (very long - 98th percentile for length of it makes a difference!) in the Tula Free to Grow for a couple of months now and been loving it. However, lately after only a short amount of time with her in the carrier, I start to get pain in both my lower and upper back.

I wondered if it’s possible a fit problem, and if I need to readjust any of the straps? Or is it just a case of baby is getting heavier?
