I've got tons of cardstock, a cricut, a few old magazines, an old copy of Hamlet, a bunch of stickers, watercolours, a gluestick and photo mount double sided tape, and time. What kind of embellishments or ephemera can I make?

I'm in a bit of a creative rut, where I want to create badly but don't know what to make. A lot of ideas I have require other materials or printing and I don't have the budget to buy things or get any printing done this weekend.

So, what can you suggest I make using what I have? I'm making scrapbook pages, but I'm also interested in tyring out new things with the materials I already have.

I do have some more misc materials outside of what I listed, but not a ton. Please suggest me what you recommend I make in the meantime! Bonus points if you have instructions or a link to a resource about it.

Thanks!!

Looking for 6/10 movies to watch before bed

Lately I've been really enjoying watching movies before bed that are like a 6 out of 10. They don't have to actually be rated 6/10, but I'm looking for that 6/10 vibe. It's watchable, but it's not groundbreaking. There's dumb stuff in the plot or character actions or whatever, but it doesn't make the movie entirely unfun to watch. It's not too stimulating, but it's not completely boring either.

A few I watched recently:

The Deep End of the Ocean - solid 6/10. Interesting concept, genuinely would've been a great story if it were executed a lot better. I was engaged and interested, but it wasn't super exciting. Perfect for before bed.

The Next Three Days - faltering 6/10. Interesting concept again, but they didn't do anything very interesting with it. Watching events progress and then the escape plan was fun. The escape and action itself was a little too stimulating, and I stayed up longer than I wanted after watching though.

Miss Congeniality 2 - questionably 6/10. I've seen it before, so I wasn't overly engaged, making it great for before bed. Had enjoyable moments, but also horribly cringy moments. Made for a good chill watch.

Sleeping with the Enemy - probably 6/10. Didn't get to watch the second half yet, but I'm restarting it for tonight. What I saw was very 6/10 and I was enjoying it!

I've been really vibing with 6/10 90's movies, but if anyone has a recommendation it doesn't need to be a 90s movie. I wanna hear em all!

Edit: Wow!! There's so many responses!! I've got a long list of movies to watch before bed now. Thank you all very much!!!

CMV: the fake freckles makeup trend is offensive and looks bad

The trend has died down, but I still see it, and I hate it. It’s shitty if someone is doing it to look “youthful” or “sun-kissed”, like it’s a skin condition. You’ve got many other ways to give yourself a sunny youthful look.

You’re taking someone’s skin pigment’s appearance and making it cutesy for yourself, and you can just wipe it off whenever you want. I feel like the people who do fake freckle makeup are straight up ignorant.

Freckles aren’t a feature all people that have them love. A lot of people experience being picked on or bullied for them at some point in their lives. Someone with freckles has much more sun sensitive skin and is at a much higher risk of melanoma.

Most of the time, it’s very obviously fake because the “cutesy” look is a neat line across the nose and above the cheeks across the face. That’s not how or where freckles naturally form on a face. They’re everywhere, or at least across a much larger area, not just where you think it looks cute. Anyone with freckles can easily spot fake freckles.

You don’t see people make unrealistic “cutesy” vitiligo makeup (or at least I really hope you don’t).

I am fine with using freckle makeup in context of costuming (eg. Film or TV, theatre, or if you need to be someone’s look-a-like) if done well, because it can look realistic if done right, and it serves a purpose that isn’t just a look to go out for the day with. It isn’t being done because you think it makes you look cute.

Honestly, I don’t like how much the fake freckles trend bothers me. It’s a stupid trend I wish I’d just ignore, but I’m still seeing it regularly years later and it still bothers me (probably too much).
