Musky treading water? Tried to net him and he jumped out and swam away.
Any idea what was going on here? Sorry for poor quality, rough waters at the time.

A user sent me a new in box replacement reel for my son who has troubles casting due to his disabilities.
They didn't want to be named but I truly appreciate it.
We have an amazing community here and you all have inspired myself and my family to spend more time together fishing.
I had stated that I was willing to pay good money for this but they wouldn't accept more than shipping. So to pay it forward I am donating $200 to our local DNR fishing fathers program that supplies bait and gear to parents with kids who want to fish.
This community is so tight that 100# braid would snap and I love it.
So my 4 year old son has taken a major passion to fishing. We started off with an Ozark spincast reel and he liked it but couldn't cast it well. We have tried different reels but he always has a hard time with them and being slightly special needs, the difficulties can ruin the entire trip for him.
I finally gave him my old Quantum Snapshot reel which worked. The spinning reel mixed with a trigger that grabs the line for him made it possible for him to cast. Unfortunately it has seen better days. The bail does not close automatically which has resulted in numerous wind knots.
I tried a Shimano IX but it doesn't grip the line on pull which is frustrating for his small hands.
Does anyone know if there was or is another reel made that uses the same trigger/line grab system? I'm willing to pay top dollar for it. We haven't seen him this happy ever and I want to make it the best experience possible for him.
I have a box that will hold 5x 3600 tackle boxes. Looking for suggestions for a shoreline fishing setup.
Looking to mount a holder for up to 10 rods. I have a vertical 6 rod holder but it doesn't do well with baitcaster and spinning mixed.
20ft Bennington Fishing model if that helps.
So i was curious about the temu DC baitcasters so I took the dive and 2 weeks later one arrived. Ive put it through some testing but I would be curious to see if you guys have more ideal tests.
First off this is the Haut Ton DC baitcaster. Comes in a generic box with absolutely no English instructions.
I did what anyone would do and spooled it up with the highest quality temu 16 strand 20# test braid that $4 could buy.... I strapped a 1oz weight to it, turned the spool tension to 0 and the brake to max....
Result? No backlash. Buzzing noise. Pretty damn far cast.
Then I calibrated the tension, turned the brake to minimum and sent the weight like I was casting to Jesus....
Result? Mild backlash.
I pulled it apart and inspected the entire thing. For a $35 reel it's not bad. Works better than some of my KastKing baitcasters. Definitely cheaper in some areas. Plastic housing and line guide, but the internals are brass gears and what appears to be either steel or an alloy. I took apart the "DC" mechanism expecting to find a buzzer... it is not. It is an actual chip and braking induction coil and a rudimentary chip setup.
This is not a Curado or Metanium replacement or even close. For a beginner learning baitcasting, this may be the most forgiving reel I've seen at the price point.
10/10 for price performance in the under $50 range.
5/10 for rigidity and durability.
I will try to use it for a few months and update everyone if there is interest.
