Seeking guidance on recovery after unauthorized UPI transaction in India
I recently became a victim of an unauthorized UPI transaction and suffered a financial loss of ₹92,000. I immediately reported the matter to my bank, Google Pay, the National Cyber Crime Helpline (1930), and the National Cyber Crime Portal.

The bank completed its investigation and closed my complaint. I also escalated the matter to Google Pay and have filed an RBI Ombudsman complaint.
RBI Ombudsman Complaint No:
I also visited my local police station twice to understand the next legal steps. During my discussion with the officers, I was informed that if there were no funds remaining in the accused's bank account, recovery of the money would be very difficult. I was also told that filing an FIR might not result in recovery if no recoverable funds were available.
I am currently awaiting the RBI Ombudsman's decision before deciding my next course of action.
I would like to seek guidance from members of this community. Has anyone in India successfully recovered money lost in a similar UPI fraud through the bank, police investigation, or RBI Ombudsman? Any suggestions, experiences, or advice would be greatly appreciated.
