A new low for Britney fans: pretending Candace Owens is credible

Apparently Candace Owens “exposed Lou Taylor and said the people who drugged Britney Spears with lithium should be in prison.”

Candace Owens is a brain dead conspiracy theorist who claims the First Lady of France, Brigitte Macron, is a man. If this is what Britney fans are siding with, it’s a new low.

This was so embarrassing

The song being borderline unlistenable. The lyrics. The vocals. The cheap, tacky looks. Britney trying to piggyback off Iggy Azalea who was huge in 2014/2015 to get a hit only for it flop pretty much everywhere.

Bratney has never been sane

I was just on her Instagram page. Good Lord! This is hilarious. Bratney Spears has literally never been normal a day in her life. This is a woman whose entire existence reads like a rejected episode of a trashy reality show: bizarre wigs, bizarre outfits, bizarre interviews, bizarre Instagram posts, bizarre career decisions, just an endless parade of WHAT THE FUCK IS HAPPENING. And yet people insist on analysing her as though she’s some inscrutable cultural icon when, babe, she’s been serving unfiltered weirdness since 1998. 🪦

Blackout’s So-Called “Impact” is Overblown

The idea that Blackout (2007) “invented the sound of late-2000s pop” is hilarious because it’s blatantly untrue. Britney was a trend chaser, not a trend setter. In late 2007, the sexy sound of Blackout was already trendy.

Nelly Furtado Loose and Justin Timberlake’s FutureSex/LoveSounds, both released in 2006, and both heavily shaped by Timbaland and Danja, who also produced much of Blackout, were dominating the charts and every dance floor worldwide. Britney was, quite literally, so 2000 and late.

Loose had already introduced the combination of futuristic R&B, sparse electronic production, sexualised pop and Timbaland/Danja’s distinctive rhythms.

FutureSex/LoveSounds pushed the same production and vocabulary into mainstream pop.

Blackout was a continuation of an existing trend, rather than anything innovative or new.

It was also part of a wider 2007 shift toward darker, sexier electronic pop, alongside Rihanna’s Good Girl Gone Bad.

Contemporary critics explicitly connected Blackout to these records, reinforcing that Britney was responding to a musical moment rather than creating one from nothing.

The claimed influence on Lady Gaga is especially overstated. On The Fame, Gaga drew heavily from European dance, synth and house, with producers such as RedOne, rather than Danja or Timbaland.

Britney’s “Victim of the Paparazzi” Narrative Must Die

I have seen a lot of delusional takes in my time, but Britney fans insisting that a normal person “wouldn’t last three days in her skin” in 2007 might take the cake.

The “Britney was a helpless victim of the paparazzi” narrative must die. The sooner the better. Yes, the paparazzi were intrusive and aggressive. (Every celebrity deals with that.) That does not mean Britney had no agency, no resources or an inability to make better choices.

She was a fully grown adult with extraordinary financial resources, staff, security, drivers and every conceivable luxury at her disposal. She wasn’t some ordinary woman being randomly harassed and stalked on her way to a tedious service job making $10 an hour.

The idea that she had to personally drive through McDonald’s for a Big Mac or whatever is hilarious. Britney was a multimillionaire. She had access to assistants. She had access to drivers. She had people whose only job it was to handle mundane errands. She did not need to personally navigate a swarm of photographers to acquire a cheeseburger.

Please spare me the “YOU WOULDN’T LAST THREE DAYS IN HER SKIN 😩😩😩” routine. You mean three days as a beautiful, extremely famous millionaire with no financial insecurity, no nine-to-five job, a mansion with a pool and ornate furnishings, staff, security and access to virtually every luxury imaginable? Tough gig.

Britney was clearly struggling, and 2007 was a disastrous period in her life. Money and privilege do not make someone immune to mental illness or personal crisis. But pretending she had absolutely no agency or resources is infantilising her, not defending her.

Has the Free Britney movement ever suggested any alternatives to the Conservatorship?

It just occurred to me that I haven’t seen any alternatives to the Conservatorship suggested by the Free Britney movement.

By the end of 2007, Britney was running out of money and in the middle of a mental breakdown. Her career was coming to an end before Circus (Blackout sold much less than Circus and a fraction of In The Zone; she was too lazy to promote it and incapable of touring).

So in what position exactly does the Free Britney movement think Britney would have ended up without the Conservatorship post-2008? Just let her continue down the path of 2007 and hope for the best?

What’s next for Britney?

The first half of 2026 has seen Britney sell her music catalog, get arrested and be forced into “rehab” (for self-serving legal reasons). From her appearance and behaviour, she clearly hasn’t gotten clean and sober despite her time in “rehab.” This demented tart is as trashy and low-class as ever.

Her music career is finished. She has no talent. She is bloated and erratic. She cut off her family who tried to help her. She can’t even drive her car anymore due to her irresponsible actions under the influence.

What do you think is next for this train wreck?

I'm back on Day One

I accidentally drank a bottle of vodka yesterday. I'm back on day 1. I have 13 hours sober.

I'm doing a 90 in 90 - I'm staying sober this time.

Is Britney going to make it to 50?

I don’t want to speculate but this troubled tart named Britney is only 44 and already in a world in trouble. If she doesn’t get sober it’s unlikely she will make it to 50.

Is Britney really in AA?

Britney has apparently been in AA since 2007, but is it really AA or an “AA” meeting where celebrities and rich people go to stroke each other’s egos, socialise, gossip, etc.?

Given that she’s been in and out of “AA” for almost 20 years, one would expect that she would have done some form of self reflection but there’s no evidence of that. She was also recently arrested on suspicion of DUI.

I was always suspicious of her involvement with AA but a recent post where she said her friends in AA traveled 10x a month got me thinking.

What do you think of her so-called involvement with AA? She always seems to reference this when under fire. It seems self-serving.

Britney stans have the same low I.Q., conspiracy-theory mindedness as Q Anon

When Britney stans aren’t claiming that she’s been cloned, they’re suggesting that both (1) no mugshot exists and she wasn’t arrested and (2) hidden forces are trying to conserve her again. Actually, this is even dumber than Q Anon.
